I was working on Kings of tomorrow...suddenly the editor closed and when I try to re open it an error message appears:

File I/O Error
Could not load track.

I spent tons of hours on it,it's not finished...pls help me!

p.s.the other files open normally.

Thanx!

I would say send it to somebody you trust and see if they can open it... besides that I dont know.

Did you save it in multiple files (ie. track 1.nltrack, track 2.nltrack etc.) cause I do that a lot and it helps if this happens.

edit: did you check if its just the editor and try opening it in sim/terragen?
Go chuff yourself and have a nice day! :D

I didn't save in multiple files........

p.s.the Construction Kit says "the file may be corrupt"
how is it possible....[shocked]

Your file is corrupt, i think, you cant fix that. You get a corrupt file because the file is not able to boot or some other wacky reason, so unless you made back ups, which you didn't, your screwed.

Put it in the recycle bin and then restore it. That worked on RCT2 games sometimes.

Unfortunately, I've seen this exact message before. It used to happen to me all the time, and is why I started saving my files in 2 locations while working on a coaster. Sorry to say, the file is dead.

Indeed, cjd. That error showed up in my editor while trying to open on my designs. I tried many things like sending it to a friend (who could not even download it from the e-mail attachment), reinstalling the NoLimits software, and replicating the file...nothing worked...

....sorry barone, but the track is indeed a goner. A pity, I was looking forward to this dueling inverter.

Everytime you make a change worthy of saving - save. As long as you arent using massive terrain files or starting your supportwork early on a woodie, the file sizes wont cost you much.

I usually end up with 200+ files when Im done - all track files. Each one shows the progress. Hmm. Maybe when I finish a ride I should do a timelapse of all the files and show how I progress peice by peice.

Today I have a day free and I'm going to try to rebuild it from the screenshots.
