Jensenator and a couple of his friends have reported a massive clearing of land in between MF and Snake river falls. Trees are dropping like crazy. Google it and you can see what i mean. Rumors have stated that it may possibly be a B&M flyer. Other then that, i have no news. Folks, please tell me any input you may have!!! Im going tomorrow to see for myself.

Looks interesting... I'll have to keep my eyes on that... Guess it's been 2 years since a new ride.

GCI sounds likely. They need to make up for the crappy CCI they made..

I don't see why they don't set mean streak on fire and build a new woodie. I mean can you just imagine that going up in flames? Hmm id bring popcorn.

I noticed this while at CP to. I doubt the B&M Flyer thing since its been going about 10 years now. IMO its some kind of Mega-Light or Intamin woodie.

(PS: Mean Streak is not a CCI, its a Dinn coaster.)

BTW I put my money on some kind of Inatmin, due to the buying habits of that park

lol Megalite? What's the point of that, especially smack in between Millennium Force and Maverick?

Good luck guys! I hope for the best :)

Cedar Point would totally be worth going to if they added a GCI....

On a different note they should have just cleared out the pile of wasted trees in the back of the park instead of taking out the useful ones! [:P]

I don't think it will be an inta. I read somewhere that because of the whole incline roll incident on maverick they wouldn't buy from them anymore. But you never know.

And buying a B&M Flyer is their way of reducing debt?! wtf just stop spending millions on that park until you are back on your feet, instead of selling off other parks.

I wish I lived closer to there. I live near Great Adventure and we have Superman. It's alright. Nothing special.

Wasn't there a contract between Intamin and Cedar Point for a 10 year - 5 ride contract?
-Millineum Force
-Wicked Twister
-Top Thrill Dragster
-Maverick
-2010?

-Maybe the 5th ride won't happen because of the problems with Mavericks heartline roll. I also heard rumors that Cedar Point was done with Intamin.

For me, a GCI twister would fit the profile of the area, but maybe they're going to surprise us all with something new.

Idk what its gonna be, but that clearing looks like its gonna be something pretty good sized. Maybe an X-car, CP likes to stay ontop of technology. Or a eurofighter, but i doubt that, they already have a beyond verticle drop with maverick.

I heard Dick Kinzel stated somewhere that this was meant to be for 2009 but had to be pushed back, and that they told this to the contractors in October. If all that's true than construction would have been started after the 2008 season, but I'm not really sure if that's enough time to build a big coaster. It is going to be a new ride though!

I would expect a GCI simply because Cedar Fair has been dealing with GCI a great deal lately.

I'm hoping for a superior wooden coaster. I go to Cedar Point often and I've still never been on an awesome wooden coaster; having one there would help so much.

I'm feelin a wooden coaster... A few eyes probably opened and noticed that CP was in desperate need of a woodie.

If I had to dish out my best guess I'd first go with Intamin. Regardless of that single incident on Maverick's roll (which never made it to the public anyway), Intamin has reeled in unbelievable publicity for CP...two record-breaking roller coasters and one of the greatest steel coasters around...I don't think the roll issue is going to shadow all that great business [;)]

Aside from Intamin I wouldn't doubt a GG or a GCI either...

And if Lewis is correct about the 10 year-5 ride contract, an Intamin wooden coaster would be perfect.

I doubt they would build a Gravity Group woodie, they usually go to the smaller parks. It would be awesome, though.

It could be time for GG to branch out to some famous parks. (other than Holiday world)
Just keep scrolling...

I agree. With pretty much everyone. CP's in desperate need of a new woodie, and the roll incident on Maverick is nothing to worry about. Second, GCI is definitely my first pick...I think it's one of very few wooden roller coaster companies whose rides I have not ridden. And an Intamin prefab would be nice, but I'll find out exactly how nice when I hit SFGAdv this summer. Last, I am totally not feeling that flyer thought. B&M flyers, imo, look pretty slow and boring, something that CP is definitely not known for. Something's definitely up, though...
manta, part 2

Turbo, did you mean Mantis?
