Ok so our high school's homecoming dance is coming up on October 18th and I need some of your opinions. We're allowed to bring a guest with us that does not attend our school and is under the age of 21, and I was looking to bring along my boyfriend.

I'm not saying our principal will make a big deal about that, but he made his opinions felt on it 2 years ago. He denied a senior from taking his boyfriend to the dance and he said "that's sick and disturbing." Now if that were me, I would've lost all control right there.

I'm expecting a comment from him and so I've been thinking of a way to bewilder his decision with some words of my own. Now off the top of my head, I can think of that as him just being a homophobic sexist old fart. What legal matters could be brought up in a case such as this in his wrong doing?

Wow, there are more gays here than i thought!

Your principal sounds like hes one to not get on the wrong side of, as he could cause a scene. Personally i would see what a few other teachers opinions on the matter were 1st before i invited my boyfriend along.

It would be nice to have him there, but surely its not worth a massive embarrassing scene, an angry principal and a spoilt homecoming for others. Sometimes you just gotta accept that some people are not as accepting as others, no matter how old fashioned their views are.

eh,
the principal probabally knows you'd just be doing it for attention anyways.. id say skip the dance and go out on a nice date or somethin. that'll show him that you care more about going out with him than making a scene..

Yea anybody would think we just want attention, what we really want is just to be able to have a good time like everybody else. Sure everyone will stare at us, but let them stare. We won't be giving them any reason to stare at us. We won't be the ones out there dirty dancing with our guy friends like most of them do. We just want to be able to have a good time like everyone else, regardless of our orientation

Prom is expensive foreplay for women. Are you stupid or something?

jayman's got the idea. If you really want to "be able to have a good time like everybody else" find some place to that accepts who you are, that's the place to have a good time. Your options are probably limited in Martinsburg West Virginia, but you're old enough so that your horizons should be expanding really soon so don't stress about it. My girlfriend and I skipped prom entirely and did the tourist thing in San Francisco instead (she was from Germany) it was fantastic and I have no regrets what-so-ever.
Be sure you're not looking in a mirror before you start pointing fingers.

exactly what i was trying to say..if you want to have a good time then this school dance isn't where it's gonna happen. you found that out 2 years ago..

My GF and I skipped homecoming this year to go on an AWESOME date to dinner and then 4 or 5 hours of SFMM for night-coaster-riding. I had a great time.

i really never thought you were gay DX, ah well, i guess i don't have a "gaydar" like some people do. Anyway i think you should just go and to hell with what your principle thinks, most people of your age i know hate homophobia anyway so it shouldn't be a problem.

Haha bible humper. Yea a lot of people didn't expect that from me, but found out Saturday night. Things went fine and I didn't have any problems. I had pepper spray in my shirt pocket just in case though, but things went fine. The principal didn't say anything and allowed couples to go regardless. There was a bunch of gay and lesbian couples there surprisingly. Me and Levi didn't dance too much, but we had a great time. I felt like a presidential candidate from what I was wearing haha. Here's some pics I took Saturday night:

Darn ur fine.

AND your friend Dylan looks just like the youngest brother on Sexdrive, without the brown hair. It's bizarre!

I actually wasn't disappointed. I wasn't really looking for trouble, but I did kind of expect it. There is 1 kid that graduated from our school last year that made a big deal of it on Myspace. He works at the mall at Foot Locker as a managger and I ran into him the night before homecoming and he wanted to fight. So the night ended with me getting escorted to my car by security because they found out about it before anything happened.

His girlfriend is a senior at my school and I expected him to go with her, so I made sure I had pepper spray. I never saw him though
