Finally, I've saved up enough cash over the last 3 years to get my self a new system! I was going to have to wait till summer to actually have all the money, but I was able to convince my parents in to throwing in a few hundred. The only condition with that was that I had to wait till Christmas to open it.. I'm already dying of anticipation though haha.

Nice setup :D

I was always wondering about the 64 bit version of windows, does everything, like all the programs still work for it, cuz not everything has a 64 bit version

Im so glad to see them including Wireless (N) cards, more and more, Its quite fun when its built directly into the motherboard, but they tend to be problematic
besides, a desktop isnt going anywhere, mite as well be cabled to get the full force of ur broadband

(which :P , i just got 20 MB/s :P )

wow, that sounds like a crazy ass computer!!!
good choices everywhere!!!
i actually spent all of my second hour on newegg today looking at desktops.
yours sounds amazing!!!
desktops are starting to get insane with power.
i found one today with 12 gigs of DDR2 ram, and it said its max capacity is 24 gigs.
what do you even need 12 for???
it must be smooth as hell having 12, but i think all you need right now is 4-8 at the most, lol.

^ Graphics. 3D. Video.

Anytime you are working with huge Caches of files, huge files themselves or lots of processing of huge files. I used to do all 3 of those. I would have loved 12GB of DDR2. Woulda been heaven working around Photoshop and Premiere at the same time. Which, you do. If you do movies. Or 3d max and photoshop at the same time.

CP-Soad, that is a great computer. Just a few curiosities that I have. Why two dvd drives? Seems a little wastful with the money. Also, you will need to take a picture of all of your parts together, just so I can believe that a 16 year old is going to spend well over $3000 on a computer. If I had one piece of advice for you, it would be to just get one video card and cut back on 2gb of ram. But that is just me. [lol]

Also, where are you going to put the radiator? If you want to keep it all inside of the case, I would suggest this case;
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6811119158

Great price and it is huge. You can mount a 3 x 120mm radiator in the front of it and still have enough room to have a dvd writer.

Instead of the Danger Den cooling, I would suggest you look at Swiftech products. For the CPU block, the Swiftech and D-tek products seem to be the best performers vs cost. Also don't skimp out on the radiators. Swiftech and Thermochill have been proven to be the best.

Check out this site, they will help you a lot with the water cooling; http://petrastechshop.com/watercooling.html

Don't forget to purchase a fan controller as well. You will definatly need one to turn down your fan machine when you arn't gaming. For this I would suggest either of the two following ones, both made by Sunbeam;
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6811995017
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6811995011
These can power a lot more than one fan on each dial. Many other fan controllers have very limited power capabilities. You can also get them in black to match the case.

He can't cut back on Ram, Core i7 uses triple channel, so 3x2GB sticks.

ah, I didn't realize that. Stupid new technology. [:(] Can you still run the motherboard with 2 sticks in dual channel mode?

What are you doing wth your computer. If your not using photoshop extesively, cad, 3dsmax (serious use not nl use) or maya or rendering ridiculously long movies then you freaking wasted a lot of money.

^^BURN. OWNED.

Um, 3ds for NL use is as intense as a lot of other applications. Such as gaming even. 3dMax for gaming is the same concept. Creating one high res model then more LOD's after it. I do the same thing for NL. Creating many LOD's till I get one that looks good and has a low poly count.

Meh wouldn't use that computer for CAD or 3Ds Max if you were serious about it, at least not the graphics cards and the hard drives.

Well yes there are cards designed just for that purpose. Same for faster HD's. But with all that RAM you might supplement the HD's and the graphics cards. The processor will take a load off too.

Hey cp, why are you using a TV for your monitor? You would get better resolution if you used a real monitor.

Cause I know monitors that go up to 27inches. lol.

Hanns G makes a 27in MONITOR. Its wicked. I hooked up a beastly machine to it and played a Blu Ray through it, then played a game and it was mouth watering. If only I had photoshop...so much desktop space. Id go nuts.

Exactly. Through a quadro or firegl in, and 10000+ rom drive in.

That's pretty dude! Much neater than mine, but I have the graphics cards in the loop too. Need to get me some red fans too.

You've got to cut yourself, or stab yourself with a lead/pin, and get blood in the case. Otherwise the mod gods will never be happy and you're systems going to be bugged.

Awesome setup though, congrats!
Be sure you're not looking in a mirror before you start pointing fingers.

Or you could spend LESS money on a BETTER monitor:
Higher Contrast Ratio: Acer B223W Bdmr 22-Inch Widescreen Monitor

Higher Brightness, Larger Screen: Acer B243W bdr 24.4-Inch LCD Monitor

Acer monitors tend to get a bad rep because they sell their cheaper computers at walmart, but yet they're rated highly in comparison to other monitors in magz like PCworld.
