I have a gym literally within a 2 minute walk of my house and I was wondering how their prices compare to some other peoples gym membership.

At this gym I am looking at around $40-50 a month, depending on the term. It is a fair sized gym with a full weight room, lots of stationary bikes, heated pool, hot tub, sauna and free classes (like spinning classes, yoga etc).

I am loving the convienence of it being within walking or biking distance of my house, but I can't help but feel that that is a huge price to pay.

from what i hear a lot of gay bars have free admission, why spend 50 dollars a month to be around a bunch of sweaty men in tank tops? ..

[lol][lol][lol][lol][lol][lol]
if you can ride or walk to the gym, why not keep riding. that'll elimintae the need for one of them stationary bikes, and walking is good exercise .. but i probabally make a whole lot less that you do, and that sounds like a realkly good deal.. so good in fact that it made me feel a little guilty about my health and fitness.think about it, for less than 2 bucks a day?
phhht..
makes me think about maybe quitting smoking and going to a gym to get out of breath.. i'll save money, geez, then i'd be at thge gym and not drinking which would save me even more money .. and .. what ever
thats cheap !

I would keep walking or riding my bike if there wasn't a foot of snow on the ground or -15 out. [lol]

With this place I can also put the membership on hold for up to six months I believe. Which will be nice in the summer when I won't ever want/need to goto it.

and I hardly doubt you make less than me lol

i see the point in that then.. i'm used to a place where a frosted windshield happens MAYBE 2 times a year, just about as often as i DONT wear shorts to work.. but really that sounds like a good deal

Will you actually use everything given to you. I mean the classes and pool are nice but will you actually swim or take a class?

I'll definatly participate in the spinning classes. The pool is questionable, but it would be nice to take a dip in the summer.

My local gym is 30 dollars a month. It's got all that, but I live in the middle of nowhere in a tiny town.
