I recently saw this comment in a section on a coaster that takes said section at 37mph.

"Yours was kinda just like two hills, a turn into the brakes; and again taken slowly."

Poll Question: Is 37mph slow? You decide!

Depends on what the section is like.
37 mph on a huge forceless turn is slow. But 37 mph on really small radii turns and quick transitions can be fast.

Speed is generally relative smart guy. 37mph may be slow or fast given the situation...it's not fast for the bottom of a first drop, but very fast for the top of a tophat. Similarly, if your transitions are drawn out (like almost every transition on your ride), it may feel slow, but with the fast transitions of real GCIs, it may seem fast.

I'd make a GCI with decently realistic transitions next time before calling someone out like this. Your layout was ok, but the shaping was nothing like that of any GCI in many aspects throughout.

Oh, and your train stops on the lift after a couple cycles.

It's slow. You didn't make a good GCI considering pacing.

A normal person wouldn't bitch about rates like a crying emo, but you seem to post forum topics about rating whines more than any person on this site...little girl...

My spinner got RAPED by Oscar, and you don't see me making a site wide tantrum...I just spent the $50 I said I was gonna give him [:p]

Like everybody above said, it's the pacing or changes in direction that make speed noticable. The astronauts cruise along at 15,000 mph in outer space but seem like they are barely moving. That's because they are going in a wide, circular orbit around the earth.
If my car hit a brick wall at 37 mph I'd say that's pretty fast.
If I were cruising down the Interstate at 37 mph I'd say that's pretty slow.

EDIT:
HEY, if you want some examples of BAD PACING, check out some of my roller coasters. Of course not all of them have bad pacing. LOL

There are few situations in which 37 mph would feel "slow" to me, whatever that means. As everyone has been hinting at, it is the perception of speed that counts.

So, "This Day & Age" would be a bad guess? [;)]

Haha, good one. Give that ONE give away, and the list of music I think I still have in my profile (?), I have a larger span of music preference than most people do. The selections I do listen to of rap are the modern more upbeat raps with more enjoyable beats. I'd say they aren't pretend rap, just another genre of rap [:)]

This is really stupid Coasterkidmwm, people rated with their opinions and they supported them with facts, like the fact that the rid lost its pacing. So you just can't argue, it will just make you look bad. Look at the all the good things they said about your ride, there's a lot of them. Nobody can make a perfect ride alright!

I disagree that noone can make a perfect ride. The word perfect really only means that something is exactly fit for it's purpose, hence a ride that is fit for it's purpose is perfect...

If the rides purpose was to have really slowly taken hills for maximum annoyance of it's riders, and it ended up being that way, then the ride is perfect.

Examples of this are every modern RCCA ride. 76% of people favor my not slow position!
