now i for one am not a "believer" but i got over my resentment towards christians many years ago .. mostly because of people like tj and real.. but the resentment i held for many years before that was a result of the type of presentation of christians that you have shown here.if i was inclined for some reason to believe in things i know arent real you certainly wouldn't be the one convincing me.. i'd be running like hell the other way..

God says to pray for someone not to boast that they pusecuted you. And like I said I TRY not to boast, nobody is perfect. God sais to rejoice when you are being pericuted so thanks all whove called me stuff that is bad!

But TConwell? Come on, man, he's a preacher. He's spent decades teaching people and doing God's work. Please at least consider what he's saying.

The second verse is taken from the gospel of Matthew which is basically the written account of Jesus.

The book of Matthew was written almost 700 years after the book of Isaiah and for Matthew to hold a nearly direct quote from a book from 700 years ago is astounding because just think about it. The Bible was read by pretty much everyone kind of like the newspaper is today, and if the quote wasn't true then it is safe for one to conclude that the quote would have never been in the Bible. This is 700 years later. How could have Matthew known about the prophecy had he not read or heard about it. Usually, if something is found to be untrue it is shot down and dies within a few months or years.

Thank you for doing so much to educate people regarding God's Law. I have learned a great deal from you, and I now try to share that knowledge with as many people as I can. When someone tries to defend the homosexual lifestyle, for example, I simply remind him that Leviticus 18:22 clearly states it to be an abomination. End of debate.
I do need some advice from you, however, regarding some of the specific laws and how to best follow them.
a) When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odor for the Lord (Lev 1:9). The problem is my neighbors. They claim the odor is not pleasing to them. Should I smite them?
b) I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?
c) I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of menstrual uncleanliness (Lev 15:19-24). The problem is, how do I tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offense.
d) Lev. 25:44 states that I may indeed possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighboring nations. A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians. Can you clarify? Why can't I own Canadians?
e) I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2 clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself?
f) A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an Abomination (Lev 11:10), it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality. I don't agree. Can you settle this?
g) Lev 21:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have a defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear reading glasses. Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle room here?
h) Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the hair around their temples, even though this is expressly forbidden by Lev 19:27. How should they die?
i) I know from Lev 11:6-8 that touching the skin of a dead pig makes me unclean, but may I still play football if I wear gloves?
j) My uncle has a farm. He violates Lev 19:19 by planting two different crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing garments made of two different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester blend). He also tends to curse and blaspheme a lot. Is it really necessary that we go to all the trouble of getting the whole town together to stone them? (Lev 24:10-16) Couldn't we just burn them to death at a private family affair like we do with people who sleep with their in-laws? (Lev. 20:14)

This is exactly what I've been thinking since page 3...MAC, just making sure that you know that the books of Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy are laws which were written for the tribe of Israel, not us? That was part of their covenential agreement, and the laws and penalties were a lot stricter since Israel needed to distance themselves from the rest of the nations to show that they were wise, and therefor that their God alone was Lord. In order to do this, there were many harsh laws so that immorality would not enter the nation.
We, as gentiles, were not made heirs to Abraham's inheritance by covenant, or law, but by grace. "For sin shall not be master over you, for you are not under law, but under grace." [Romans 6:14] There was actually a counsel in Jerusalem to decide whether newly-converted gentiles had to keep the Law or not in Acts 15. James spoke up and linked back to a prophecy about the inclusion of Gentiles, and reasoned no. What was important was to abstain from idols, fornication, from blood, and from "strangling". Therefore we are not required to keep the Law, but rather have a duty only to love the Lord with all our heart, soul, and mind, and to love our neighbor as ourself. ONe who does this has fulfilled the true meaning of the Law.
Israel was to distance itself from other nations through a severe set of laws that no other nation followed, which set Israel apart, and other nations were to see how prosperous and wise Israel was, and glorify the God of their fathers. Christians, on the other hand, it is said that what sets us apart and take notice of God, is our un-natural love. "They will know who you are by your love." / "Let your light shine before men in such a way that they can see your good works and come to glorify your Father who is in heaven." This is what the Bible is really about. I'm sorry that you don't see it more often, but that is the ideal set for us.
