Pendulum will be the first coaster where I will try and make bi-weekly construction updates like a real coaster....this should be interesting...first time i'm trying to do this.

Right now the coaster will be a B&M Hyper coaster..unless someone gives me a suggestions for a different type of coaster. I'm planning on this thing to be pretty large and tall, probably around 250-300ft tall and over a mile long in length.

Please give me any suggestions for unique elements! I have a few ideas but i'd like this coaster to be top notch!

I'll post the first update in a little while.

If it's that tall it better be over a mile long ;) Good look creating a coaster thats excitement lives up to its height. It will be a difficult task.

^Oh good call, thank you. I'll fix that now.

Is this better?

B&M has various drop types, that pic shows the most recent. But tracks like raging bull have very steep descends quickly.

Compared to the pic supercell gave me its pretty accurate. I think i may go back to the original drop however. I like that style better, old school B&M haha. I wanted the drop very much like either Raging Bull or even how Titan is shaped, a quick drop off, steep, and long run back to level.

Well if you want to be realistic and include that style of drop, I would add the pre-drop too. That would just look much more realistic and a lot less like you made a mistake. (Even though you would know you meant it to be like that.)

^True. I do like the pre drop as well, I think its cooler to look at. I'll re do that. I started to do some of the track but i have been experimenting with GCI woodies and stuff that it didnt even resemble a hyper coaster haha. I'll have pics up in a few days.

What are the G's in the back row on your first drop? They seem like they'd be pretty high for a B&M considering how steep that drop looks

^Actually they are surprisingly fantastic. They never hit red, its mild to high yellow but they are in check. ;)

UPDATE 7/8/09:

I've scrapped the original ride. I just didnt like it. Highly un realistic and all that, plus it was just poorly built with bad Gs.

I've restarted the project as of last week and it is just beautiful so far. It's significantly shorter this time which is more realistic but the ride still packs a punch. I'll post pics and stats either later tonight or sometime tomorrow!

You will all love the new Pendulum!!

Looks Pretty good With that Tunnel did u just lead the track into the ground or did u clear land to add a tunnel custom made?

I think the drop gets too steep too fast. It needs to be continually getting steeper until right below the middle like this-

Image

So preety much push the middle out a bit.

^THe problem is i build my drops different than most SM users do. Most do put a node halfway down the drop, i just use 2. one at the top, one at the bottom. But yes i can try to make it a little more gradual, but as of now it's not too bad.

You do realise his last post was ten years ago, right? He might have scrapped it.
