Hi my name is Real. Im new to this NoLimits game. Its really cool. I hope I can design some good rides for you all that don't suck too bad.

Haha

Actually, I get married in 9 days. After that, I will be on honeymoon in St Lucia.

Here is our room
Image

After we get back on the 30th, I will be calling my local cable company to come hook up my interwebs in the apartment and then Ill be all set.

And, I made a slight upgrade in the computer department...

Image

Rosewill 500W Stallion PSU
AMD Phenom II X3 720 Black Edition Heka 2.8GHz
-This has the 4th core unlocked, making it a AMD Phenom II X4 720 OC'd to 3.0Ghz
ASRock 880G EXTREME3 AM3 AMD 880G MOBO
G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666)
MSI N250GTS TwinFrozr 1G OC GeForce GTS 250 1GB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI
COOLER MASTER Intel Core i7 compatible Hyper N 520 RR-920-N520-GP 92mm Sleeve CPU Cooler

The cooler...its absolutely ridiculously huge. But it keeps that processor OC'd running a 4th core at under 43C under load. 36-38 idle depending if the AC is on or not. And thats with no Case fans... (I used a really old but large case in order to accomodate the CPU fan - Ill take a picture of the inside to show the stupid size of it later)

Running on W7 x64 and an ACER 20" widescreen. Basically, this computer is 10-20 times more powerful than anything Ive ever owned or gamed on. So Ive been stoked.

More than likely, lol. I run with so many settings maxed its not even funny.

Oh and another perk of that motherboard - FSB of 2.6ghz! And when I overclock the SidePort on the graphics card...lol I get like 15fps higher. Its so awesome. Ok, I gotta go home to my apartment and start playing. LOL

Boulder Dash was the only good roller coaster.

Oh poop, Dirk busted out the award. Since Shapiro is no longer CEO, I think I should send a blank one to Webber so he can sign it for me.

Dirk, I love you for posting that, I was looking all over to find it.

Oh, and to TopThrill123, thanks. The VIP status, 4000+ posts, the fact that he's member #27, and everybody knows who he is didn't give it away at all.

Anything above 60 fps won't matter unless you're using a 3D monitor which is a different story entirely.

The Radeon 5770, which is what I have, is roughly on-par with the 250. Actually, Real's is probably better from the OCing. Either way, I run all tracks with 4xFSAA, max LoD, lighting, and other settings, and full reflections and I can get 60+fps for most rides though the more complicated and/or poorly optimized scenes can get slightly slow.

Who here is still stuck on outdated graphics hardware? I was stuck with a Radeon 9600pro (with an AGP4x motherboard; overall it was incredibly slow) for a good 6 years until I got a cheap laptop with a Geforce 8200M which roughly doubled my framerates. Finally I was able to build the current comp I have last May and the difference is day and night.

I'm getting my desktop fixed up right now, liquid cooling system failed on me. I have an i7 940 @ 3.77Ghz and two mildly OC'd GTX 280's.
