^Christian Ed is a non-certified major, which means that I would only be eligible to either teach in a private Christian school (they can hire whoever they want,) or do something like be a church's youth leader.

"Education" would give me official teacher certification, so that I would be allowed to teach in any school, public or private. Either way, I know I want to teach. I've been working with kids all semester, and I absolutely love it!

Of course, I'd prefer the Christian school because I have a lot of things I'd love to teach kids about how to be effective, non-hypocritical Christians, which I obviously couldn't teach in a public school without getting sued/fired.

2. Currently: Supermarket Employee.

Now I'm probably going to study for a card that allows me to drive a Taxi! So I'll end up as a Taxi Cab Driver! xD

so you mean to tell me that if you get this non certified major, you can teach kids in a christian school and they will be considered "educated" but you wouldnt be allowed to teach at a regular school? thats actually kind of scary.. that sounds alot like all they care about is the " jesus fish" on your paperwork and not the merit of your teaching skill
i say go for the real genuine teaching credential .. don't sell the kids short just because you and their parents believe the same thing, then you can bring real education to the kids in the private christian school too...

^I plan on it. In fact, one of my big things is trying to get kids to love math and love learning in general, and I think I have a pretty good plan to make that happen. (Through a project-based curriculum where they discover things by trial and error, touching and feeling and experiencing the course's subject material rather than just being lectured, and also I am going to make sure they always know WHY they are learning what they are learning so it's not just "for the test" or "getting good grades," but practical as well.)

^I decided to change majors too late. I was already a junior with 90 credit hours in Religion and Journalism under my belt. I only got into Christian Ed because it was only 12 credit hours different from the Religion major. And only once I was in it did I realize how much I loved education. But it was too late to do the whole education program, so I'm going to have to wait until grad school to do it.

Shouldn't "this is significantly easier than ______ even though they serve around the same function (well in yours you get to lie to people)" set off warning bells in your head?

Myself, I really wanted to write books when I was little. I always loved my writing assignments, and being creative in general.

Unfortunately, all my copywriting job applications fell through, and now I'm stuck with a minimum-wage job at Castaway Bay, with my college education basically being wasted.

1. I wanted to be a coaster designer, obviously.

2. I'm getting there, see this space in 20 years or so.

I'm currently a Mechanical Engineering Designer and Project Engineer and I'm preparing to enter into the next stage of qualifications to get one step closer to where we all want to be. [lol]

1. Fighter Jet Pilot (found out I'm above average at everything BUT math)
2. I'm now a manufacturing analyst.

3... I'm finishing my degree in criminal justice in 5 weeks. I just tested second on the list for a local police department out of 150 original candidates for a department who is hiring 3 officers in January. Wish me luck, I hate sitting behind a desk.
