So this is sort of an interesting question. What roller coasters do you think now and in the future be considered ACE coaster classics?

Here is a few I thought of:
1. Cyclone-SFNE
2. Phoenix (Knoebels)
3. Comet(Great Escape)
4. Canobie Corkscrew/Silverwood Corkscrew especially!

Yankee Cannonball, Colossus(SFMM), Giant Dipper ( both Santa Cruz and San Diego), Montezooma's Revenge (schwarzkopf shuttle loops are a dying breed) Revolution (SFMM), Top Gun (now Flight Deck) CGA, Whizzer SFGA, Vortex KI (One of the few remaining arrow custom looping costers worth riding), Loch Ness Monster (for the same reason as vortex), Appollo's Chariot, Goliath (SFMM)

Nothing mentioned here meets the criteria for being coaster classic. Unless all parks start pulling the seat dividers and seat belts out of their trains, none of these will happen. And steel coasters aren't even eligible.

That also rules out any SF wooden ride because they are all required to have primary and supplementary restraint systems by the end of this year.

Little Dipper, Revolution (SFMM), and Leap the Dips already are right? I'm fairly certain in around 20 years Magnum and probably B:TR eventually.

The list isn't actually classic coasters, it's just coasters that meet a stupid criteria they have. Triple Hurricane was on it lol.

* The coaster must use traditional lap bars that allow riders to experience so-called airtime, or negative G's (that sensation of floating above the seat!!). Individual, ratcheting lap bars do not meet this requirement.
* ACE Coaster Classics allow riders to slide from side-to-side. A coaster with any restraint or device that restricts this freedom is not eligible for ACE Coaster Classic status.
* ACE Coaster Classics allow riders to view the upcoming drops and thrills. Coasters with headrests on every seat, or the majority of seats, restrict this view and are not eligible for ACE Coaster Classic status.
* On ACE Coaster Classics, riders are free to choose where they sit. Some parks' operating procedures assign seating; these coasters are not eligible for ACE Coaster Classic status.

That's what it has to have to be on their list. It's mostly kiddie coasters and scenic railways that actually meet the requirements.

Dania Beach Hurricane might be a possible candidate, as well as Starliner if it's rebuilt.
Oh, were you expecting something here?

That is a pretty stupid criteria Freddie. I've never actually looked at it.

Are you retarded? DBH has individual lap bars, seat belts, AND seat dividers. Learn to read maybe?

I think Leap the Dips is an ACE Coaster Classic. Stupid rules that ACE makes these coasters have though as there are far more "classics" out there.

I am sure that eventually in the future that ACE will have to change the rules since they will no longer have any coasters to induct.

Yes i agree, these are the most retarded rules I have ever read. Certainly more coasters should be inducted.

Not to mention the criteria was made before all the ride safety laws and what not were heavily enforced, hard to find a coaster anywhere that has not had a massive safety overhaul within the last couple years.I like Gazag's idea....why not create our own classic coaster listing. ACE was so last century...lol....Not to mention all the bad rap that ACE has from parks and other coaster fans.

Because I'm the one saying that Goliath at SFMM and Batman the Ride are possible candidates as well....

Obviously, there aren't many other coasters out there that meet the ACE requirements anymore, so those standars may need to be adjusted at one point.

Little Dipper is no longer and ACE coaster classic. They installed seat belts and removed the brake lever.

I heard a rumor that certain liability carriers were going to stop insuring rides under their general liability policies (which are significantly cheaper then their specialty counterparts) which used the following equipment:

Skid Breaks
Non-Electric Brake Controllers
Lacking Electrical Safety System (EG, Safety PLC + Blocking + Interlocks)
Roller Coasters W/O Seatbelts or Secondary Restraint Modifications
Roller Coasters W/O Seat Dividers & Padding
Emergency Power Disconnects within reach of each operator station

If every insurance company adopted these rules, there would never be another ACE coaster classic ever again. I know the insurance company I recommend for my customers doesn't care until such time something goes wrong, and then they audit the ride and then require it be updated to modern standards or added under a specialty insurance plan. Which for most parks would break the bank im afraid.
