Actually, this project has slowed dramatically. The flanges/supports are to the bottom of the first drop.

I hope to get more done when I get home from vacation, but Crysis 2 is pretty fun. :P

Just a little informational update:

TheArchitect has agreed to collaborate on the creation of this ride. Expect this project to start picking up again very soon!

Supports will have to be adjusted, but the basic form of the structure is starting to take shape!

Wow, this is just looking awesome. The layout is really nice, but i don't like the idea of the long tunnel after the zero-g-roll. I'm curious about how the textures of the szenerie will look like!

^The tunnels were even longer on the original plans. It's actually part of the "theme" so to speak. It's where the delusions are supposed to happen (in the video as effects and in the coaster as 3D's I'm hoping).

It's actually just a huge flat curve, so the tunnel seems fitting (to me).

^No.

That name is too generic and boring. That sounds like a Cedar Fair ride.

Quite like the theme behind this. Some totally psy trippy stuff would work wonders in those tunnels.

Looks awesome! Just had this thought, what if you exported a ride and changed the textures in sketchup. Is this possible? Cause that would be pretty cool.

EDIT: Like the textures of the rails and stuff. Sorry for not being specific.

^You mean texturize the track? Well, the problem is that the 3D track isn't as pretty (the zero-G roll has a huge kink from rel-roll issues), and it "competes" with the NL track sometimes and has texture-popping issues since they are very similar in shape.

It's a nice thought, but it wouldn't work out good.

C_Dude, the amount of polygons in a 3D is primarily what causes framerate issues. If a 3D has a LOT of poly's, then your ride is going to be juttery.
The polygon count on 3D track is about 10,000 alone. To save frame rates that is something that we can do without lol.

This 3D is going to be high enough as it is lol.

Changes in spine for force, to paint it with stripes...lots of reasons.

Or just for the general sexiness increase of seeing a ride in the editor covered in blue wireframe models.

I'm looking forward to the end result. I am a huge fan of terrain tunnels. They're just so cool.
