Epic neat stuff! You should probably substitute the text and other items with textures instead though; do watch the polygon count and optimize. I don't want to have to go through the pains of turning off my antialiasing and water reflections on my Radeon 5770 just for one ride. =p
^^^Really? You think "Delusion" is better? Hmmm, I thought Cedar Fair was composed of the only people like that in the world. I guess not.
Don't worry, I'm going to include a drop tower, and call it "Drop Tower". However, the story behind the theme of Drop Tower is probably too complex...you wouldn't understand. If you want, I can explain the name (since I know it's a bit of a stretch to understand how "Drop Tower" is fitting for a drop tower), but I still think you'd be clueless.
Maybe I should just tell ArcTec to ditch the 3Ds, I mean, pavement is the best theme ever. Why else do people think Scream! is the best ride on Earth?
Only thing I would have done different to the layout itself is to have the first inversion something else besides a loop to make it stand out, but loving the whole theme and design. May not be able to ride it however. I'll give it shot when it's uploaded.
^^Yeah, it actually started out as a coaster for the TPR Batman contest, and I wanted a beginning that was really similar. Eventually though, the roll continued underground (which DQ'ed the track) and I kept on building from there to make my own ride.
I think it would look a little nicer if the spine and ties were a dark gray rather than a black. Just seems as if it would mend nicer with the buildings and surroundings. /me being nitpicky.
The track-connector flanges match the track color (like in real life). Also, since the supports match the track color, the supports and its flanges would have to be recolored as well.
ArcTec gave me the final product of his work yesterday. I have reworked the existing supports, added new ones on the loop section, and now I am at the start of the zero-G roll.
While I'm not done with supporting (I only have the last wing-over/helix to do), I'm pretty pooped on supporting the ride so I thought I'd throw up some pictures before break...
I kind-of wish ArcTec did something with that lime-green grass (it's just too vibrant for comfort), but whatever, I can't complain for a free full-fledged asylum 3D that saved this project from doom!
