To save you a long story, my landlord is horrible and my house and the house next door has an infestation of bedbugs due to a bunch of things the landlord refused to fix that violates several state laws and all of those goodies according to the inspector guy we had check out the two houses.

My main question is whether I need to liquidate everything I own or just everything I own that is cloth. I'm currently in South Dakota for a summer class and the bedbugs appeared in the house about 3 weeks after I left. I'm concerned that when I move into a new apartment in August that I'll carry the bugs with me to that apartment and to my parents house before then via something incredibly stupid like them living inside my Wii or something.

I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with these bastards since it's looking like I need to basically sell/throw out everything in my possession because of these things. Can anyone give me some advice?

Put the bedbugs in your landlord's bed.

Basically to get rid of them you will need to burn the house down with the belonging inside. Seriously.

Call a bug and/or pest removal company to give your home the "heat" treatment. That will kill any bed bugs and bed bug larva in the home. Its a long and expensive thing but its the only way I know of.

Yeah see the "making your landlord pay for it" part is significantly easier said than done.

It is his legal obligation to do so . Threaten him with a lawsuit if he refuses.

Well today the state inspector came and my neighbors house has been condemned, and my landlord has been ordered to go through the most expensive and thorough fumigation process the inspector could think of.

The inspector is a bit pissed because when he went to go check the neighbors roof some of it fell onto him.

On top of this they need to pay for a nice mold cleanup too :-D

YAY! Don't you have to leave the house while this is being done though?

I'm in South Dakota taking a class, so I'm not in the house at all.

yeah your landlord concept is right... prevention is better than cure... for your landlord should wash the bed sheet and clothes with warm water... also can use lavendor oil..To know more about bed bugs see.. http://www.whatdobedbugslooklike.net/in ... tures.html

You will probably have to wash every article of clothing you have like 3 times. I know someone who had bedbugs and that's what he had to do

I have never had a problem with bed bugs, but they seem very nasty. Sorry to hear about your news.

Sincerely,

Has anyone else noticed a recent trend in new members resurrecting old topics as their first post?

Yeah..this is the most common problem...for this you should spread mint leaves...after all the bed bugs will drive away.. and also use hot water for washing clothes as well as bed sheets...for more information read...

It is not us admins, its "marketers" trying to get people to buy stuff so they dig up old posts and post their link.
