Not feeling that dive loop. Looks very Intamin-ish (a la Storm Runner, to be precise) and nothing at all like a B&M. I realize this is your first attempt at a Newton ride, so it's totally understandable, but if you *can* fix it, I recommend that you do. Looking back, though, did you change it since the picture of it in the first post or whenever it was all white? Because it looked really good then (maybe a bit intaminy, but not nearly as much as it seems now).

That first one in the white.env was hand-built. This is my new Newton 2 version. I've had a few comments on the Dive Loop and so i'm gonna change it. Thanks for your comments. I'm also going to change the pace-breaker from the cobra up to the helix, I like it but it's too long.

How about now?

^ thanks.

What do you guys think to the idea of a modern turn-table for the switch track (track storage area), for example:

EDIT:
Also been working on some cartextures, let me know what you think:

That cartexture <3. The turntable sounds like a good idea.

Turntables are inefficientl for long trains. The have to be extremely strong. It would be more realistic to use the B&M translating track or intamin/vekoma style switch-track.

That car texture is EPIC.....

I think a turntable could work, the technology has been used for years within the railway industry.

You might think why has he just posted a pic of some water, but this is water like you've never seen before:

And a pic of the normal water for comparison:

I'm extremely jealous of your texturing skills, that's some damn sexy water.

WOW. Those cartextures are amazing. The water texture is super nice too. Can't wait for this to hit the exchange.

These look excellent, I may ask to use your water texture for my Screamin' recreation in the future. You have a talent with texturing, man.

Damn it, I only changed mine because some other dude decided to use the one I had...

And A113: I'm sure that won't be a problem once the ride is released.

I guess things have gone a little quiet on the track-side. Certainly not on my end though, here is an update:

Image

-This can fluently run 4 trains without any stalling or waiting in the blocks. As you can see in the above picture there are three trains (3!!!) free-rolling, with only one in the loading-station, leaving two break runs, an MCBR and an unloading station free and waiting. Here's an editor top view for more of an understanding of the potentially (still to be worked on) finished layout: -

Image
(excuse the wobble lines)

The break run goes through the Inclined Loop, there is a lot of track-to-track interaction with this ride. One of the things that Gouldy (a CC member) liked about this ride and recommended i did more of. AJClarke recommended I did this with the Inclined Loop, and it was a good tip too because it really paid off!

Image
(this angle makes it look like a standard vertical loop but compare it to the editor shot to see how it is slanted).

Thoughts?

My god. The sexy quotient is ridiculously high. I wish I could tell you something specific I really like, but I really like it all.

UPDATE:
-------

Been working on some more 3D stuff, i'm making the turn table.
Here is the beam which the break run will sit on top of, with the central ball-bearing hinge.

Image

Up close:
Image

And also these motors will go on either end to do the actual turning, they will grip a metal rail between motors on top and motors on bottom.

Image

I've copied the actual NL B&M motors as best as i could with lower polys to keep every thing looking authentic and also so that the 3D's don't stand out from the track too much, i want everything to blend and look legitimate.

Here are the pics of the corks too, i'm very near the end of the track work stage, it's been sent off to my two testers (was sent on thursday) but i haven't heard back from them yet...

Image

Hope you enjoyed this update and i look forward to your comments.

Wow. I have to say, this is some of the most impressive texture work I've ever seen. However, if you're planning on doing extensive theming, though, perhaps those individual bolts would be better suited as additions to the texture itself rather than modeled in 3d?
