Hey Guys.
I've been working on a coaster for about 3 or 4 weeks now. Thought I would post a sneak peak. Here it is, Merlin The Ride.

I did a combination of creating 3ds and downloading them. Stuff like the castle, towers, sheilds, and cliffs I made, but other more complex stuff that would take me to long to make like the dragon and so forth I just downloaded. The ride is coming along nice. I got one scene left to do and then all the touch ups.

Why was it a downfall? 3ds doesn't make a ride great...

I use solid edge for modeling and I just learned how to texture it with 3d Studio Max. This ride has lots of 3ds but I think the track it pretty fun. Unfortunatly because of the pace its really short.

All this wonderful 3ds, yet you're still using prefab supports? It just seems to give the impression that the actual coaster is less important than the scenery.

Whats wrong with the supports? I could model something but its gonna look just like that anyways.

they are prefab supports, but they seem appropriate to me.

I just always think prefabs give a look of laziness compared to custom supports, but I suppose given the low height of the track custom supports wouldn't look much different, so I guess it's acceptable to stick with prefabs.

If I do another coaster I will try to include something that can require a cool structure to support it.

While the trackwork wasn't perfect, you at least had the jerkiness and geometric feel pretty well. And the ride was fun! Loved the hills over the bridges.
