It has plenty of practical uses if producing game art, for example, an amusement park map ideally with coasters that are actually somewhat believable unlike in most games.

I really need to explore these sort of tools in 3D modeling software sometime.

That's really good! Plus, you can practice with the b-spline tool before Nolimits 2 releases on Friday! just only a problem, you can't get REAL time physics because it'll always be a bit different from the real world.

Once they Figure out some 3ds track spline export options Ill be having lots of fun with this..

Edit-

Actually The NL team should bake some ambient occlusion into their models so that I wont have to.

Maybe use it as custom NL2 track, but there's also Construction Kit for that if one doesn't mind not feeling as much like a badass.

Are this blender made track styles working? I mean if you can make a working coaster of that? :)
Yes....

^Nice screenshots! The RMC track looks fantastic

I've been working with Blender myself, but I'm still figuring out how to make the track follow a path and the train (which I haven't made yet) simulate real physics. Keep in mind I only learned how to use Blender like 3 weeks ago and I'm still a noob at it

Use a array modifier firt to stack your piece of rail then use a curve modifier to make it follow your curve ;)

I heard Kyle is working on "BlendVD", basically an FVD in Blender, and the best part is that it has non-destructive editing!

Also, anyone know if it's possible to animate a coaster made in NL but exported in Blender? I know it's kinda pointless but want to learn animation without having to model the track first

Those are really nice! You should try to make a full working coaster.
