Hey all,

just saw that news over at Rock, Paper, Shotgun: http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2014/08/26/parkitect-kickstarter-trailer/ and what do I say? Well, this looks amazing for someone like me, who's asolutely deep into RCT :D

They revive RCT2 in the modern Unity Engine, it looks very promising.

from what I saw no horrid attempt at "3D Wonderfullness", custom banking and more detailed radius for coasters. Those were just the few things I saw when I skimmed, I'll tell more when I get the actual game lol

Few updates on their tumblr: http://themeparkitect.tumblr.com/

Custom size corkscrews and element shaping - rollercoaster designing looking pretty neat going forward with colour based force modelling!

I still think RCT2 interfaces should be in use! :)

They've said they're going to look into it - and if they can pull it off and it looks good then yes - else no.

Started talking with those guys before they did the Kickstarter... didn't know they were going to do a Kickstarter either. They're pretty cool. If you ask, they may add features. But I think right now they just want to get a working release with a base set of features.

I feel like not being able to ride the coasters is a make or break feature at this point... with how far technology has come.

Disagree entirely. The art style doesn't exactly lend itself to decent 3D environments and its difficult to make something that won't just look blocky and a bit rubbish. These guys aren't huge developers id be pretty pissed if they spent their time trying to make onride looking decent when they could be adding in more features and rides and making the actual game good.

This looks promising, especially after the RCTW fiasco. Let's see where both games are going.

This is quite the decade for coaster sim games. We've got RCTW, Theme Park Studio, Coaster Park Tycoon (by Frontier, the RCT3 makers), and then this. (Not counting NL2 as a game because it's a more serious simulator that has a fairly steep learning curve, if not 3D modeling steep)
WIP: In order of release priority: Nordschleife: Green Hell, unnamed B&M Floorless, unnamed Mack Launched Coaster

I'm obsessed. A bit reminds me of the good old Luna Park I played back in middle school. Anyone?

It's a fun little game so far and it's not even finished!
