Hi!
So I'm working on a mack launch coaster and I'm having some problems with the lateral forces in my inversions. Atm I'm trying to make a right turn - heartline roll - right turn. And I can't get rid of the laterals. The closest I got to "no lat." was a maximum of 0.5 g at the extreme points (front/back seat). Is that acceptable or does it have to be even lower for it to not be uncomfortable to ride?

Another thing. I get these tiny fluctuation of lats. inbetween roll-points. Does anyone else get that? How do you get rid of it? I should add that I build everything by hand.

I appreciate any helpful advice :)

For a Mack, that is totally acceptable. It is impossible to get a well-shaped inversion to have no lateral gs (except maybe a vertical loop) and Mack's are known for having some crazy inversions.

Yeah, it's physically impossible to eliminate lats completely, especially on a roll, at any point in the train. I think 0.5 is fine. It could be lower probably with force vector shaping, but that's not how you're creating it. Make sure the roll points are not "strict" if you want smooth transitions; I'm not fully understanding your second question.

I wouldn't stress over that too much. 0.5 G's isn't too bad. You'll get better with time. It's not like you're making anything with OTSR's where you could bang your head around on the ride anyways.

^what they said. You're going to have that because you're changing direction. Anytime you have a lateral change in direction you will have lateral G's. If that's the most you have going into a heartline roll by hand you are doing awesome

I mean, in the editor if I go along the track there are these small changes in lateral force along the track. They are very tiny and I they aren't noticeable in the simulator, nonetheless they annoy the crao out of me. I realize now it prolly doesn't matter. I'll just try and tweak the roll points a bit when I get to the fine tuning later on and see if I can rid of them.

Anyway, thanks for the responses everyone :) I realize now it's pretty much impossible not to have lateral forces.

Mijke just pretend it's the train bouncing in the rails.
