If and when it is gone...what could replace it? A B&M Dive Machine? Or possibly another woodie from GCI or Intamin?

YES!!!
Finally someone who understands. I look over and feel so horribly bad for all the little girls with their moms riding that thing in the back row. It is the roughest ride i have ever ridden.

Intamin should do a makeover on the SOB.Steeper drops and curves and far fewer helixes.Maybe like Daghter of the beast as seen on No limits. DOB can be seen on youtube. Its amazing and does not let up!

There's not much in the layout you can change by doing a makeover. You would only be able to make small changes in the height and not go to far away from the layout path or it will become as expensive as a whole new coaster.
But I think a simple re-tracking from either Intamin or GCI would be very good.

Oh yeah, and we need the loop back.

They made one, they can make another one. Sure it'll cost money, but what doesn't?

1- The ride isn't even open lol

2- Not sure if those Gerstlauer trains could go through the loop very well.

3- The ride will remain boring unless it gets the Texas Giant treatment.

At the risk of bringing up an old topic, I'd like to share a comprehensive article on Son of Beast including its problems during conception and construction, its numerous accidents as well as how the park has been dealing with it.

I honestly don't see anything good Rocky Mountain Construction can do with this layout. It's just a couple big helices. Unless they wanted to make banked airtime hills go in a circle 540 degrees. Twice.

Was the layout of this ride really not fun? Lets say they keep the original layout with a refurbishment of the structure and a steel track and new cars added....and I guess reintroduce the loop maybe.

would that not be a successful comeback?

It would make the ride appreciable for what it is, but it simply wouldn't compare to basically any other layout. It seems that after the first drop (since it was built to be the tallest and fastest woodie), they just had to burn speed so they just spun it in circles until it slowed down a bit.

I would like to see those videos of them saying there thinging about removing the ride. In April they said removing the ride was not brought up. They contacted 3 engineering firms for a pernament fix. One of the firms declined and no information has been realsed about it since.

Welcome back FtF

Hold dead thread Batman.

If you going to pull threads from the dead then at least post some original content:
