SFNE fright fest commercial said that you could ride the world's scariest coasters in the dark.

The only scary ride at SFNE is Mind Eraser because you fear the amount of brain damage it will give you.

While I do think their rides look fun and awesome, I think it's so much fun to see this chain taking the heat. I don't agree with all of their decisions. Not that I think this is very likely any time soon, but if they did go under, whatever. Not like I would even be sad.

That right there is enough content for an entire thread without being redundant.

^ So why do people continue to go? I'll never understand why people spend their hard earned money on something they hate so much. Go to rival chains and never set foot in a Six Flags park ever again. Problem solved.

But as soon as Wicked Cyclone opens, the same people will be beating down their door again.

^ As a season pass holder, it's extremely cheap, for day tickets, its rediculous.
I got my 2015 season pass for $61.99.
Here's what I got for it.
  • Rest of 2014 admission free
  • Rest of 2014 Parking free
  • 2014 Fright Fest admission for free
  • 2015 Souvenir Drink Cup with FREE Refills of any drink for the rest of 2014 and then works as a normal Souvenir Cup for 2015!
  • Free Gold Pass Upgrade for the rest of 2014 and 2015
  • 10 Minute Early Entry for the rest of 2014 and 2015
  • Free Hurricane Harbor for 2015
  • Free Admission for all of 2015
  • Free Parking for all of 2015

For $61.99, that is an incredible deal, especially because 1 Day tickets to the park at the time this special was going on was $66.99! It was cheaper to buy a Season Pass for the rest of 2014 and 2015 then to buy a 1 Day ticket in 2014.

So why do people go? Cause it's really freakin cheap.

^ Exactly. It's like the Walmart of theme parks. lol.

But I don't go to Walmart and then complain that I'm in a Walmart. Or maybe I do ...lol

The point is, Six Flags could be so much better, but it is NEVER going to be, ever. So it's a waste of energy to keep expecting it. I go, get what I need, and keep it moving.

There are some pretty good SF parks out there (SFFT, SFGAM and every now and then, SFMM), but even they fall into some of the same traps and are incredibly inconsistent.

^ Don't forget Great Adventure.
Despite it's issues, I've heard from how other SF parks are run, we have the best operations. We always run 3 trains if we can.

Great Adventure for sure. At least there you can distract yourself with some pretty awesome coasters. And they have improved their operations a lot in my last few visits. But it still feels like a giant cess pool. lol

^ I agree completely. But whenever you think Nitro will only have 1 or 2 train operation, it always has 3. I like that.

And don't get me wrong. I actually enjoy most of their parks (SFNE and SFA being among the worst I've been to but I enjoy those as well). But I see the parks AS THEY ARE, not what people fantasize them to be. They are giant, cheap entertainment centers, and they attract those level of guests. I go, enjoy my day and then take off without much thought going into it, other than how awesome New Texas Giant is going to be.

I shrug off a lot of the stuff people generally complain about because well, I'm aware where I am, and I'll be damned if I'm not going to enjoy my day anyway.

But I admit, there are times when I just don't want to deal with it, and simply make other plans. lol

When I was at Six Flags Great America back in August, at Goliath, I thought it was strange how they make you wait in the overflow queue until you get to the main queue to use the single rider line. In a way, it sort of defeats the purpose of having a single rider line. On the bright side, it did allow me to get on the ride faster than everyone else.

Also, I'm not a fan of how they assigned me a row on several of the coasters. I understand there are reasons for it, but after you been standing in line for a long time, it's a bit dissappointing not being able to choose where you want to sit.

Speaking of single rider queues, I remember on Zumanjaro 2 months ago I kinda cheated the whole line in a way  . My cousin, my brother, and I got in line at about 9:50 ish at night, but there was still a colossal line. So after waiting 10 minutes, we started seeing many people just cut over into the single rider queue (it runs parallel to the regular line) so we did the same. The best part was that we still got to ride on the same gondola next to each other, and only waited like 15 minutes when the regular line was an hour and a half. I don't know who's to blame, or if there is someone to blame, but all I know is that we went into the single rider line not expecting to ride together, and cutting the entire line wasn't our intent.
It's been a long time

^ Yup. I do this all the time with Zumanjaro. 1 hour line, I go into single rider, get on in 10 minutes, ride, repeat.
It's awesome until people realize that there is a single rider line.

once people realize, they abuse it.

Went on Sunday, 1 train operations on everything........

I don't care if there's one person in line, there should always be 2 trains.

Some coasters actually need it... like goliath...

TTD, you'll probably get an answer of something like: Thanks for reporting this, we'll take precautions so this won't happen again. Here, have a 5$ discount coupon on your next visit.

As for the free drinks, yes. But going back to pepsi, as long as the Texas parks still have Dr. Pepper, I'll be ok.

They have fountain soda machines with Pepsi, Sierra Mist, Mountain Dew, Water and some other drinks. Really enhances the park experience.
