So I decided to make a topic for things I create when I'm just messing around in the editor....so here we go

We'll start out with this Intamin Rocket I've been messing around with, as I'm sure many others have as well since the new update:

Man does the double spine make this look goofy as hell. From what I can tell the layout looks like a reasonable length.

I don't think Intamin uses the double spine unless it's a very large scale coaster.

^^Actually, Sander Kernacs explained why Intamin created the double spine in an interview (by TPR) at IAAPA. He said it was because King's Dominion specifically requested that Intamin reduce the amount of supports and footers. In order to have fewer supports, Intamin developed the double spine, and this was especially important in the development of Skyrush, as that ride is in a very tight space. With the double spine, they can build support columns up to 100 feet apart. So basically, it's not the size of the ride, but the amount of supports that determines whether a ride gets the double spine or not.

^ One pretty good trivia we should know! I wonder if there's any possibility that we would see the triple spine track in the future. :)

Somehow I doubt it, at a certain point the track begins to weigh too much and requires MORE supports as a result

Not true - The strength increase will always outstrip the weight increase - I think the limiting factor is having supports in the right locations to resist the loads.

I guess I was assuming the supports always connect to the outer spine...

Haven't been able to get any work done because of traveling and Finals, but I should be 100% free by wednesday, so i might do a bit of supporting then
