Vekoma has finally discontinued the SLC model which brought them so much success throughout the world. The last one has been built in Vietnam and apparently Vekoma is working on a new model to be sold to parks that will use the new generation track and trains.

I sincerely hope SLC replacement parts become hard to find so that the older models shut down

Ok but how desperate you have to be to voluntarily fly from another country to go to Thorpe?

I don't see on their website it has been discontinued. It is the model is ending or the track style is being changed to the new style I guess as in the Lech coaster? I still think SLCs do have nice layouts, very compact, and the pacing is great. They are are so freaking unbearably rough.

Yes this is the last SLC and it does look very smooth like the one in Energylandia. Vekoma will still produce SLC's but it will be a newer model. I guess they want to completely move to the new track style. I can't wait to see one of the new ones pop up!

They stop it once they finally get smooth... Well hopefully they layout is basically the same when they switch to the new track.
All hail your great Arrow Dynamics overlords.

Wouldn't surprise me if it ends up being 80-90% exactly the same and they just incline some bits to alter the rotational forces and pacing.

Since people liked the last SLC, they are scrapping it and starting from scratch. Parks need that one horrible coaster to make the others look better like hanging with the ugliest guy at the bar to look better.

I highly doubt the new ones will be horrible. Some of the SLC's don't look too bad honestly. I've always liked the Shenlin (Kumali) model.

Sarcasm *crickets*

I actually can't wait to see what they come up with. Thier sit-down classic coasters look phenomenal now. OMG if they have the first beyond vertical inverted drop

Don't forget another SLC (Single Loop Coaster) by Sameco lol. It's also a sit-down type!

VHCoasters posted it a while back while this SLC was beginning construction.
