Hey Guys,

I am currently working on a Sensorpack, one that supports all current Coaster Styles.

One that doesn't need someone to place that Object perfectly by Hand.

What do I mean?
The Objects have a Script attached to it, that perfectly aligns the Object to the position on the Track, either left or right (these are different Objects)
Then it adds a couple of Tracktriggers and reacts to the Train that Way (by switching on and off small LED's)

The Colors of a Sensor will be fully customizable. (they are already) :D
The Sensors also work on Transfers/Switches, and they move accordingly.

I currently need a little Assistance, so if anyone can provide me:

1. A Picture of a Brake Section on Maurer & S??hne X-Car
2. A Picture of a Brake Section of a 4D-Coaster (did not find any helping Pics)
3. A NL2 RMC-Coaster to work with

I would be very happy!

----------------------------

Currently Supported:
Gerstlauer Infinity I
Gerstlauer Infinity II
Gerstlauer Bobsled
Gerstlauer Euro-Fighter I
Gerstlauer Euro-Fighter II
Gerstlauer Spinning
Maurer & S??hne Spinning
Wooden Coasters (Non-RMC)

----------------------------
Currently working on:

Maurer & S??hne X-Car
RMC

I love the idea and definitely think you should release it when finished... I know I, and a bunch of other members would benefit from this! Great work!

they look fantastic! I hope you're taking LODs into account though.

They are actually not that high Poly, the only High Poly thing is the Cables and they are Clipped at Distance.

EDIT:

And I use Collada and NOT 3ds as Format, this looks smoother, even if it isn't.

I'd still highly recommend it lol, from afar in sim it could be as simple as a box and nobody would be able to see the difference. just a thought :) Looks great though!

edit for example:

.5m would be full detail
.51m - 5m would be the bottom box, smaller box inbetween to show texture, top box
5.01m and on would be one box

Nobody would be able to tell the difference visually and you would get much better performance overall by doing it leading to more usage of your packs :)

I understand your Point.
I will be testing this and the Benefits in Performance.
So far I can tell, that even slower PC's can handle a couple Hundreds of these Sensors without dropping below 60 fps

But I'll try it out.

Sorry for Double Posting, but it makes more Sense.

I've updated the First Post a Couple Times now already, and here we go for additional Pictures concerning what i've done the past Days.

We start with Gerstlauer's Euro-Fighter.

As Type 1 and 2 have the exact same Track Dimensions, there's just one Pack for Euro-Fighter.

Next One up is Maurer & S??hne Spinning Coaster.
This Pack is a little Complex and done in another Way. You add the Side Railings and then the Sensors in the middle.

Normal Sensors and Railings with Cablebox in the Front

For the Transports.

The Last one for this update, is the first Test for Wooden Coaster (tested with Timberliner)

That is looking great! unfortunately I don't have any of the following you were asking for right now... I can look around for some images but id suggest joining our Discord CC channel and asking our members on there... its also a lot faster of replies!... I can send you a link to join if you are interested!

As for double posting, no need to apologize at all! this is your thread so go right ahead (just please dont do it just to do it).

Overall, everything is looking absolutely fantastic!

Can you make a wooden coaster skid brake pack too? I could really use them on my wooden classic coasters.

oh god i feel bad for your memory, maybe you should use textures instead of creating holes in the rails
i riped this texture from gta V maybe you can use it

edit: really awesome models btw, except that they are not really optimized

Hello to Everyone following this Project.

I gotta tell you something.

In first Place, don't worry the Sensorpack will be continued, but not as the Sensorpack itself.

The Point is that I miss very much Content inside No Limits 2, and some of the Guys that I've been working with, miss them too.

So I decided to "recruit" People who want to work on a Coaster-Addons Pack, for every known Coaster Styles (just send a Private Message straight ahead, and we'll get in touch).

The Team will need People that can do different Things, such as:
  • People who make Pictures from various Coasters while in a Theme Park
  • People who can draw (or scribble, doesn't matter that much)
  • People who can make 3D Objects good, using Blender, Cinema4D, 3DS Max, ... (should be able to export collada (.dae) files)
  • Someone who is able to make good Textures, or capable of making UV Textures
  • Someone who can script (and someone, who re-reads the Code)
  • And a couple more, so feel free to just write me...

What you should bring with you (sounds a little bit like you inquire for a Job :D )
  • You should own a good Computer, working with detailed Objects often requires High Computing Power.
  • You should know what you do, I will help if needed but I wont be your Guide.
  • If you script and you're not using Notepad++ yet, go get it. :D
  • You should be on Discord, it's a lot faster and easier way of Communicating with me.
Guess that's all

We will work on a Package including:
  • The Sensors, as you know
  • LSM Magnets
  • Train Addons (such as a Second Magnet for Gerstlauer Infinity Style)
  • And many more...

It will be a frequently updated Package and eventually added to No Limits 2 in any future update
(I'm currently in touch with different People from Support of No Limits 2, including Ole himself, for development)

This Package would be scripted, whereever it makes sense.

I hope this hits your Interest and that I'll get a decent Team to work with.

Elyani

I was about to tell you to reach out for the devs in order to include this into an official update for NL2, and then only I read the end of your post. So thrilled for that!

Wishing you luck with the project. ;)
Maybe you can reach out to Irvine Ondrey Engineering, they might be able and happy to help.

Hey, since I have many objects and scripts of that kind already (some published, some not) including sensors that seem to work exactly like yours, I think I could contribute some to that package and help with designing or reviewing new ones. In the meanwhile, you can maybe get no better reference for sensor objects than the CAD models from Pepperl + Fuchs (for the case you aren't aware): Website. I will go to PM you with further details.

Greetings Daniel aka bestdani

Hi man, I'm wondering of this project is still going on or if it's called dead. Because this looks amazing and I think it will help a lot of people building even more amazing coasters! :D

In case anyone was wondering, those PX switches are made by Pepperl-Fuchs and are part of their inductive series of proxy switches.
