Wildlands Emmen in the Netherlands has always been an animal park but now they have announced a new expansion for 2018 including the world's first dueling boomerang coaster. It will be a Vekoma family boomerang based on the artwork.

Translated article:

Emmen - Wildlands allowed the next step. Next year, the adventure park in Emmen is enriched with a true roller coaster.

According to director Frankwin van Beers, time is ripe for a new attraction. It is a so-called double family boomerang coaster of the Dutch manufacturer Vekoma. It is a double-lane without inversions, in which passengers of two trains can race simultaneously.
An hourly capacity of 1100 passengers can take place in the new acquisition. The roller coaster will not exceed 20 meters and will be located between Emmen-Zuid parking and the savannah of the Serenga area. A piece of land is specially attracted to the park. It is not yet known on which date the roller coaster opens. An environmental permit has already been requested for construction.

The arrival of the rollercoaster will be the first major expansion that does not directly affect animals. With this step, Wildlands hopes to offer a bit of a spectacle to their audience. Vekoma has already brought out a first design through the Looopings theme park. The decision to open a new big attraction is surprisingly fast. Last year December, Van Beers reported in this paper that it should not come until 2019 by 2018. He also sees the arrival of his own Wildlands Hotel, although the park is more likely to market the initiative. "If a hotel chain reports, we would like to talk."

Wow, those junior boomerang coasters seem to be pretty popular! Those spikes at the end look pretty steep. I wonder if they really will be that steep.

I hope they don't suffer from the slow return leg like the other Family Boomerangs I've ridden seem to.

Some of those turns look pretty banked... Looks like it's going to be some nice coasters.

We have a name for the Dueling family Boomerang, will be called Tweestryd (African for Duel)

Full statement here (Translated to English):

Tweestryd, that's the name of WILDLANDS 'new attraction. The attraction is in Serenga, where care for nature is central. Tweestryd is a coal mine closed forty years ago. The area was then returned to nature. In the meantime nature has recovered on this spot and tourists from the spring of 2018 in the old mine can race against each other. A really good cause is linked to both racers; the winning wagon also collects real money for this purpose. In short: a mine with a mission!

..and here's a image of one of the trains:

It's actually written in old Dutch.

But I wouldn't be surprised if it's the same/similar with African. As their language has a huge amount of old Dutch influences due the 1600's to 1800's.

I wonder if those trains were the same weight, if so. Isn't left a tiny bit faster/shorter?

I guess like their concept is "Run" together... not "Race" together as they are designed for kids, too! Oh neat! :D

In it's defence the pov's area taken really high up, you dohn't get much of a sense of speed going forward either!

Wow... that backwards bit is really slow...

On all these Junior Boomerangs I've always had the idea that the backwards part of the ride was slow. Would definitely be more interesting if they find a way to boost it up the front spike a little further so that the backwards part goes faster.

So this is kinda sad, but due to the financial status and the amount of visitors of the park at the moment (aka bad), the ride will no longer duel.
The sides will also not operate at the same time anymore: the park will operate one side a day, switching daily in which side will be open
