During the IAAPA, the Compagnie des Alpes has bought a new roller coaster for Walibi Rh??nes-Alpes, France.
After the opening of the Explorer Adventure area in 2016, and the creation of the Festival City area for 2018, Walibi Rh??nes-Alpes will open a brand new roller coaster in 2019!

The park will get an Infinity Coaster from Gerstlauer. This ride will be feature several inversions and a vertical lift unique in France. In addition, we will find a little surprise at the end of the layout.

The layout will feature a switch to extend the ride. So we could get a braking in several phases. So the train would pass on the brake zone, would engage in another section of the layout, then, at the end would go backwards towards the brake zone before returning to the station. Part of this layout extension is not visible in the ride animation. This new ride will be equipped with several trains made of 3 cars of 4 passengers for a total of 12 passengers per train.
Opening scheduled for May 2019.

Nice, what a fantastic concept, especially for smaller parks. One of my thoughts is of larger parks using this to save money and keep a longer ride time, I hope if used we see this to extend an already normal-ish length layout if applied. Full Throttle, for example, comes to mind. This one, to me, seems long enough for this park. I might hope for one more element, like a small airtime hill, for example, on the backwards/forwards part if at a bigger park.

Looks great though! That stall spike is going to be sweet! Really, all of the elements looks absolutely killer. Gertslauer is just nailing it lately haha, so much negative Gss :D

That's pretty cool, obviousely the concept has been done before with Switchback but it's good to see popping up again. It's a bit like they wanted to keep the back and forth of Gold Rush @ Slagharen but still wanted that vertical drop!

Too bad that the backward part isn't that long but I guess this way it looses less speed and the ending will probably be pretty good.

What a seamless layout! We've just got to prepare for those elements! :D

That stall spike looks like it could be awesome. Definitely putting this park on my 2019 schedule.

Wait that animation is based on something real? Wow. Reminds me of the terrible Pax shuttle spikes.

^The POV video is fan-made to show off the layout. They intentionally didn't show the spike at IAAPA or in that video to keep it a secret. But, you can see the base of the supports which seem to indicate that it'll end up being an inversion

ohhh, that's awesome. I still needed to visit this park. This only adds more reasons to it!

Now I'm curious on the layout though as I don't believe it until it's actually standing.

The spike at the end of the ride, with you getting crazy hangtime, will make this a one of a kind coaster in France!

So this one will have shoulder harnesses?

Looks like it, from the images. (Funny how the trains have the same colour scheme as the Smiler's trains)

I don't think so, considering that the animations for this coaster show lap bars instead of over the shoulder restraints. I believe that they took a image of the Smiler and edited it onto this rendering.

If the spike really ends up like that, it's going to be interesting. I feel it might end up a bit steeper than the NoLimits Recreation.

That logo is fantastic. So weird seeing the trains in a barely constructed state like that.
