Well, it seems like SeaWorld San Antonio is receiving a Wooden Coaster for 2020, just 3 years after Wave Breaker:

Image

Down in Texas wood is coming and planned opening is March or April of 2020. A 100+ foot tall wooden coaster will be coming to the park. A safe bet is either GCI or Gravity Group is building it given their recent relationship with the company; GCI with Invadr and Gravity Group with Oscar???s Wacky Taxi.

Current estimates are being taken for the project which means it could be any company but be projected speed is 50- 55mph and they they want it to be Texas??? longest wooden coaster.

it is also rumoured that the remaining Millennium Flyer Trains from Gwazi will be reused with this coaster.

I heard that last bit about the remaining trains, and so I think it???s going to be a GCI. This leak looks to be really fake, because I am wary of four large-size coasters plus quality theming sounds like a major investment.

This won't lead to bankruptcy like the insane building rate of the 90s coaster wars between SF and CF.

SeaWorld is on the rebound and the numbers look good, attendance is up and all the capex that was deferred due to the blackfish controversy and uncertainty is now being realized.

Glad to see another wooden coaster be built in Texas, the state was net negative in wooden coasters since 2010.

This is good news. I am so happy to see all SeaWorld parks getting a lot of attention and not just Orlando. These moves are gonna make all of the SW parks worth going out of your way to visit soon.

If that layout is correct, it seems more like a custom GG. Which I would prefer because custom GG's are way more badass than GCI's.
1-Millennium Force | 2-Intimidator 305 | 3-Fury 325
4-Skyrush | 5-Iron Rattler | 6-X2 | 7-Kingda Ka
8-Voyage | 9-Maverick | 10-Monster

First supports have gone in for Sea World San Antonio's Wooden Coaster:

Also, if you look closely, you can see what the layout of the woodie could be like:

Nice to see my first vertical construction image has made the rounds to here. Thanks for giving credit to the reddit post!
Kinda forgot I had an account here, but I figured I should brush it off to give y???all some more pics I took yesterday. The weather was much better so the pictures turned out better as well.

I mostly focused on the continued construction on what looks to be the brake run here. There seems to be a station foundation being prepared for pouring just past the brakes, and footers for a prelift section in the small ditch running from Rio Bridge. After that, what appears to be bents for the lifthill are stacked on what will probably be their footers, though they aren???t installed yet.
lmao I'm taking up vertical space

Nice! Do we know a manufacturer here? Steel supports have me thinking Gravity Group.

I'm guessing GCI. Looks similar to a lot of what they've been building in China for the last decade or so.

According to sources and contractors, GCI stamps have been seen on boxes and shipments sitting within the park, so it seems like this will be from GCI

Also, from the looks of this image, it looks like GCI is confirmed as the manufacturer:

Nice! I'm glad it's a GCI with that operating season. I love GG, but they are just so much more cheaply built.

The excitement continues at SeaWorld San Antonio as we announce our NEW Texas Stingray wooden roller coaster. When it opens in Spring 2020, this ride will become the tallest, fastest and longest wooden coaster in Texas.

The newest addition to SeaWorld San Antonio will feature a drop of 100 ft. with over 15 airtime hills. Hold on tight! The top speed of the fastest wooden coaster in Texas is 55 mph. Texas Stingray will be located across the new Turtle Reef exhibit between Orca Stadium and the Rio Loco river rapids ride.

Snooze. Reminds me a lot of the early GCIs like Wildcat and Roar - swoopy and rampy and not very forceful.

I feel like that was kind of the point. Most of SWSA's thrill rides have a 48 inch height requirement, and the only coaster that has a requirement below that mark is the kiddie coaster (and Journey To Atlantis, if you count that :geek: ). This ride is perfect as a stepping stone for kids that are too tall for the kiddie rides but are too short for Wave Breaker and Steel Eel. It's meant to be a family coaster.
