I noticed that sometimes you need the ICON of the CD-Rom drive on the desktop. This should change to the RCT logo, IF the disc is inserted. If you have a saved game icon, you could place THAT on the desktop, as an alternative. Just click on the saved game icon, and the machine should open the game without running through the title sequence, directly to the saved game. From there you might be able to select a new or load a saved game.
Another thing is that you may want to try to re-install it again, it might have missed a file or something. Hole this helps, even though I have no idea which game you have, (1, 2, or 3.)
I know it's 1 file, i guess autoexe.bat what you need to change a bit to enable the auto load.
- About what rct do we talk here? 1,2 or 3?
- do you get a menu popping up with other games?
If it makes a weird noise, it must be a CD drive problem, or the CD is somehow corrupted.
But first, as dirk said, does it work with other games? If it does, it's got to be a CD problem. (there's also a possibility of the sceurity on it having a conflict with the drive or the comp, you might need the windows xp service pack 2 or something, if you're on an xp)
