Well, to make a trench, you have to lower the terrain. Raising the terrain probably wouldn't be allowed, since I don't see how you can make a trench or tunnel from raising the terrain. Any part of the terrain thats lowered to make room for track should be considered a trench.

why thank you pumpmeup, same to you too. i personally would say im *pretty good* with rocket coasters, but with b&m's and the way they are, those arent up my alley at all. my first b&m coaster, well lets just say it flat out sucked. and you are correct, this will be a pretty interesting first round. good luck again.

Well, my track is pretty kickass i can say, 4 inversions ATM, and my ride has everything what b&m doesn't really have [:D]

well, it's going all right so far, though I'm having some difficulty trying to get the first section to not drag too much. the second half of my ride is the fast one. I'm also 4 inversions in, and I plan to have 7 or 8 by the end. as for other details, yeah, I ain't tellin'.

^well, maybe...I'm creating a large ride. Not too over the top or unrealistic, but it will be fairly unconventional. And I may choose to leave some inversions out; we'll see

yea i just finished my 3rd inversion, its pretty sweet so far, and i have a coaster starting from the top of a hill and making it go down into the canyon...i think it is pretty original, well i like it at least

My layout is complete. 6 inversions. It doesnt follow the terrain as much as i would have liked, but is still a very original layout for a B&M i hope. It must be like the first B&M floorless to not have a normal loop in!!!! I need to start smoothing soon, but i might make a new ride all together cos i dont like this one too much. The only thing i like about it is the last 2 inversions.

Hmm, some of these rules are somewhat...odd. And some groups of 2 verses some groups of 3 shows somewhat poor planning, but, hey, what can you do if you have 44 people in a contest? Should be fun.

an inversion before the lift is very easy. Leave the station where it is and have the inversion over the lake.

well i completed a track, its OK but needs some smoothing....I dont have tools so hopefully that wont affect my rating. BTW, is it more points if we interact with the terrain more, as mine is half on the lake, half in the woods. But im happy with it and I just need to support it but boy was it tough, i spend probibally 6 hours straight on it!!

Sorry about the delay in getting your questions answered, so here they are. (The computer labs at my college are closed from 6pm Saturday to 2pm Sunday.)

About more than one station: You can use as many stations as you want. One is reccomended, but 2 or more is fine as long as you keep the timing right.

About the trench/tunnel rule... a trench is defined in this contest as a terrain modification used for the purpose of getting the track to stay above ground. Think of a real coaster, and how they often have a narrow trench that the track goes into. No more than that. Either make a narrow trench, a tunnel, or leave the terrain alone.

As far as the inversion discussion goes, there is no upward limit. If you can make a coaster with 15 inversions that keeps the pace up, more power to you. Most real coasters have between 5 and 8, but there are no official limits. 10 is fine, 12 is fine, 20 is fine. Just make sure that the track stays original, and has great pacing.

my lats are pretty good, the only problem is I don't like the design, so I'm gonna redo it, hopefully I can still keep my lats at 1 and under.

that one kid, in responce to your question...

The bonus points are not for terrain interaction, they are for creative use of the terrain. Mainly, this refers to the pacing of the ride. When you are using the terrain effectively, you can make a coaster that never loses its speed. Terrain interactions are good, but not required to be considered "creative use".
