Why do they mean +12 years of trying to get a ride built?

After 12+ years of trying to get a ride built, vertical construction of Ravine Flyer II is finally underway.

Doesn't answer my question. But, what were they doing for +12 years? Why couldn't the ride be built?

Might of had some others try to come in but back out. That or zoning laws and the like.

I was going to say .. it's only just over half a mile long, IIRC there are at least a few over a mile.

Awesome news though.

Where is this at? That closeup of that sign was like Voyager.

Has been all issues with the city, permits and what not.

It is located in Erie, PA. north of Pittsburgh.

I cant believe they are building a bridge over the road to build this ride, how freakin awesome. Looks a little short, but like a whole lot of fun.

What part of PA is Erie in? Cause if it's on the Eastern side I might be able to go ride it someday.

Gr. That's about.. 6 hours away from the NY home in Albany.
But if I catch up with my friend there I might be able to go.

Looks like a great ride, though.

2 and a half from me. So around the same distance as say Cedar Point or a little shorter than Dorney Park.

YES. Now Ive got one 6 hours away and another 3 hours away. I hope it ends up being as sweet as the layout suggests.

The only thing that is keeping me from being overly excited is the track length. The layout looks great though, and it will still be a wonderful ride even if it is inferior to Voyage and Hades.

I'm so happy to be under two hours away from a GG coaster. [:)]

Also, I'm heading down to Pittsburgh PA today, and we go right through Erie. I might be able to stop at the park and take some pics later today and Tuesday.

Finally. I have been waiting and waiting for Waldameer to get permission to build this coaster.
I live only about an hour and 20 minutes south of Erie, so I'm very excited to see this coaster and get a chance to ride it.
It's about time Waldameer got a good coaster.
