hmmm... i don't know about this, it's not always good to screw with a winning formula... but then again, its not like theres gonna be much changing, S:RoS already has fog, and some fire and audio isn't much...

I bet the "mew ride" at almost all the parks is gonna be this rebranding business.

wtf why? I sure hope they don't butcher the trains, pacing, or anything else...plus I think it's better hearing the wind going 80 mph over music. Tentative serious weaksauce verdict from me.

I know, that's why I said I hope they're not butchered...relative to the old ones. The old ones were pretty sweet because they're so small, and you ride real close to the track with the open sides. I'm sure they have to find somewhere to put the sound system so that'll likely bulk up the train some, since it was so minimalistic before, plus the ride had plenty of speed left over at the end so it's not like it has to go a certain speed to make it over an element in the layout...meaning it can go slower and make the layout. So here's hoping it doesn't pace any slower as a result of the new trains.

I bet they get OTSRs with speakers! That would be cool.

Maybe they will trim the ride so you have more time to appreciate the music.

Why would they do that instead of just tearing down SROS, painting Poison Ivy red and blue, and adding some fire/fog/music to that? It's what I would do...

I have the number one rated coaster in the world I am gonna change it...my name is idiot...I run Six flags.

I don't ride a coaster such as this to hear music...I would like to hear the wind flying by and people screaming.

This has to be the dumbest thing I think I have seen a park do since Disaster Transport
-or-
Build 3 coasters in one year(GL when they rebranded it a Six Flags park)

It's all an advertisement thing...I don't like it but I don't think it's *completely* dumb from that point of view. Gotta realize that people love music, and most would think it adds a lot to the experience. I agree with you that wind and screaming is better, but it might not be too big a deal.

Sliiight exaggeration? lol. I'm sure you can see how people would like music with coasters though, whether or not we do.

This is part of Six Flags' slow process of rebrading and reimaging.

Lets hope you don't get to run Six Flags.[:p] Even though you'd probably have some better ideas then what they have been coming up with. That corporation needs a lot of help when it comes to thinking of new ideas. They f**ked up SF Great Adventure by taking out all of these rides and adding the poopty Dark Knight Coaster. Idk what they new trains will look like, but I hope they don't weigh them down. They probably have a way to install the speakers without adding too much weigh. But I'm wondering what they are going to do when the speakers don't work. Since SF is known for rides and machinery that don't operate correctly.

There's a lot of joking going on in the second half of this thread, if that's what you are referring to.

i like the joking, it makes it more interesting.

i think that the only time they got music on a ride was RNRC, which was awesome, it worked. all hail the music on that one coaster!

^I agree, providing any coaster with Aerosmith music makes it better.
