I'm not really that impressed with this coaster...looks like a boring hyper coaster, to be honest.

^I actually think it may end up considered one of B&M's better hypers. Sure it has the same parabolic hills and turns as usual, but what precisely do you expect? I305 and Skyrush are awesome but don't exactly inspire repeat purchases. I also think a Mack hyper would have been cool to see, but going with B&M makes sense all around. And not everything here is recycled, the first turn is quite steep in its angle of ascent/descent, the only other B&M hyper to have a low to the ground airtime hill is Shambala, and the post break run portion is more eventful than past hypers.

This narrative of 'another boring hyper' is beyond tired. Surprisingly, even TPR seems to be reacting fairly well to Mako. A few backhanded compliments but nothing too ludicrous.

Dapalm has recreated Mako! His video is wayyyy better than what SeaWorld did. Check it out:

That looks almost dead accurate. The only two details I can tell are missing are the flat at the bottom of the first drop and the flattening out of the final turn over the water. Ugh it's such a good ride. I want.

So does the flat part at the bottom of the first drop mean the G's won't be sustained?

Yeah, flat track sections pull 1.0. But they did the same thing on Apollo's Chariot and I've heard it's kind of a cool sensation.

Also I would assume they'll do a splashdown there. And maybe even one during the final turn.

I just kinda assumed the short flat segment in the first animation was a pump.

I don't think so. It seems really definitive and deliberate.

Not the most exciting addition for the seasoned coaster vet but it should still be fun and adds to the line up of Kraken and Mantis.

Maybe in your opinion ;P

Also that ain't no Mantis, it's Manta. And Manta and Kraken are arguably the best of their kind (except for Tatsu) so I think Mako might really surprise people. SeaWorld has a way of doing that...

Mako's 2nd drop has just reminded me of Apollo's Chariot's high dive into the pond! 8-)

Wow, that is some good looking track. Looks a lot better than in the artist's concept art.
It's been a long time

I like the all purple color scheme better, but this track looks great as well. Looking forward to seeing construction go vertical!

The Onion does not need to be destroyed. First off it is not "lies" if you took time to actually look at the website you would realize that it is completely satirical and none of the news stories are based completely in fact.

Don't just jump to conclusions lol.

Yea the world doesn't work like that. If a simple joke article that no one will believe is true offends you then I would hate to see what a real article would have made you react. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean no one else can enjoy it.

I for one loved the article and laughed out loud. I doubt anyone will believe that because first off its The Onion and second of all they would have seen it on other news sources as well.
