Great Escape annouces, "Sasquatch" for 2009!

Coming in 2009! Discover the beast they call Sasquatch. Based on the infamous mythological creature, Sasquatch is a legendary drop ride with two 19-story steel towers. You'll be shot to the top in less than three seconds.

But it doesn't end there. Once you reach the highest point, you'll be rocketed downward with a 2 G-force before experiencing a series of air-cushioned bounces up and down the tower.

Sasquatch will be made up of two independent steel towers standing 192 feet tall. The drop ride accelerates guests from ground level to the top of the towers in less than 3 seconds. The initial powered blast creates a force on the rider of 4.5 G. Upon reaching the top, guests are rocketed downward with a 2 G-force before enjoying a series of air-cushioned bounces up and down the tower. Sasquatch will be the tallest thrill ride at The Great Escape and promises to become an iconic symbol of the park's growing importance in the North Country.

that means you'll crap yourself, the drop is powered, rather than simply freefall.. this is basically the same thing as supreme scream at knotts.. i recommend it to fans of airtime,.....highly!

Right, but as far as I remember, Power Tower is something like -.5 or -1, and I think the others that I've heard of have similar forces...that's why I was unsure of that value.

btw I find it pretty annoying that the initial force is held for a very short time, and the rest of the drop is like .3 g's...It'd be so much better if it was powered, then freefall like some other freefall towers...or just powered at like -.5 g's all the way until the deceleration. I'd love that. They're still fun rides though, especially the combo towers.

Go ride a 90' ARM. A million times better than any S&S or Intamin tower. Though S&S double shots are alright.

Been on a Fabbri tower and it was sick. That seems about the same...Crazy fast and surprising start at -.5 g's or something like that, then freefall til a 5 g brake very close to the ground. Greatness...needs some height though.
