Yea I am wondering too, I need to post my stats to see why I am getting 9 frames at nighttime on certain rides.
It's a new computer with a great graphics card, it shouldn't be running like this.

I don't believe so, Minecraft runs perfectly for me on any computer, while NL2 sucks.

GREENLIT ON STEAM

This is a quote from the official NL2 facebook page:

The NoLimits 2 team is extremely happy to announce we achieved Greenlight status on Steam! Thank you to everyone who supported us with votes, likes, re-tweets, and shares. We are humble at the support from our community!

Now we will work with Valve to prepare NoLimits 2 for Steam. We will provide more information on how to purchase on Steam and how to convert your license to Steam (for those who wish to convert) as soon as those details are final. And if Steam is not your thing we will continue to sell and support NoLimits 2 direct from our Web site.

Thank you again to everyone! We are your biggest fans.

The game will be sold on the gaming platform Steam in the near future possibly bringing new users and new enthusiasts who may not have known about NL2 until now to the community. Myself being one who voted for this I am thrilled to see this finally happening!

I'm pretty sure most of the performance issues are in NL2. it uses 4 cores but never much more than 60%. It isn't SLI compatible, but even with the 1 video card I can get down to 10 FPS and it doesn't break a sweat. it doesn't seem to utilize all of the resources available. I did recently get a SSD and I can tell you that helped with loading times A LOT. idk why but this is the only program I have any performance issues with, I can run Skyrim on ultra settings with all HD texture packs and still stays at 40 FPS. The graphics cards will help for sure but don't expect it to be %100.

stats -
AMD FX-8350 Eight-core 4.6GHz w/turbo
2x 4GB DDR3 RAM
Ge-force GTX 550ti 2GB vram
Ge-force GTX 550ti 2GB vram
windows 7 (64bit)
512GB SSD (main)
64GB SSD (page)
512GB HD (backup)

I plan to replace the 2 video cards by this time next year with 1 or 2 titans :P .

the titan cards are not worth it, you are better off going with the new Poseidon card if you want higher performance since you can liquid cool or air cool these cards, or just go with a r9 280x or r9 290x and out due those cards

Random question for everyone who owns the game: Are all of the control panels the same? I'm wondering if I'll get to relive the "hand twister" from unlocking individual rows as we call it while I'm running a BM standup at work when they rotate me into controls.

The control panel look is always the same, there are more buttons on it if required by the design of the coaster.
For a corkscrew type coaster, you have toggle buttons for, harnesses, gates, and dispatch.
On a flyer, you have toggle buttons for harnesses, gates, rotation of seats, and dispatch.

Besides those differences, everything else is pretty much the same throughout the control panel for all the coaster types.

I thought CK might be referring to their likeness to real control panels? Hence the last sentence that went right over my head...

CK is referring to the row by row locking procedure on the standups. The height of each seat is locked in place once the operators have checked the riders are fully standing. This feature, and the feature to row check in sets is absent from all of the B & M rides in Nolimits.

I think it should even come with the sound effect "Recheck Rows # and #!" if you unlock a row. But I don't think this level of realism is going to come into Nolimits.

There was a time when we were trying to build control panels that worked with Nolimits, not just for enthusiast to have some fun but so that we could train real world operators in a simulator type environment. For those times when your at the start of the season and the ride isn't ready for training, but you need to have folks trained for opening day.

The standup panels are a bit odd so I don't blame them for not including it. You have much more button pressing to do and it'll murder your thumbs after two hours. Remember when you're boarding a standup that someone is pressing down two machine buttons while your seat is unlocked.

I also have a pair of baseball sized bruises where my legs connect to my butt from leaning against the front of the train while checking restraints lol.

Since NL2 will be headed to steam, would it then allow you to use the windows version and the mac version (pending its release of course) with a single license? Regardless I find this to be very attractive. One of the reasons I stopped using NL1 was simply because I lost all my license information and couldn't reinstall.

Congrats to the NL team! Hope this leads to increased awareness among the masses and more wide spread adoption!
