Well, since your're not that experienced, I'd suggest you wait a little longer, build some more coasters, perfect your technique before running a contest.
If you ran a contest it would have a great chance to turn into a horrible flame war or something, that usually happens when people without experience run constests.

^ Haha, I am always up for a contest, but I will very soon be hosting one, so if you are going to host one, you will have to wait until my contest has ended.

^You aren't experienced enough... You haven't even benn here 10 days! There are other people who have been on this site for over a year and haven't hosted one. And besides, I'd wait for the NLT to be over... so you have more than a month.

^ Experience has nothing to do with hosting a contest. Just look at the failure that the BABB one was. Ill admit that many of my past contests were failures as well.

To have a successful contest you need to be clear in your rules, leave no (or little) room for bending and stick to them. If people are willing to do that, then it should go over ok.

That and we dont know when the NLT will start next year.

Yea, I forgot about the NLT. So can I host my contest and in the meantime whoever is hosting the NLT can plan it out? If not I can wait until the NLT is over.

Yeah, I would wait. I have hosted 2, and the first one failed because only 2 people uploaded entries, and the second one was going fine until people got mad over an imperfect scoring system.
^the message is up there^

Just host the contest, I'm always up for a cool challenge [:)]

Just do as tatsu said:

And experience can affect the rules, rating system, ratings, and understanding the loopholes that people can create and preventing them.

^Yes, experience does play a part. I almost had a duel contest with Coaster2K or CoasterFuel, with this site. But I never got enough interest, Conwell wanted 10 entrants minimum. And I didn't think it through enough.

I think a good rule of thumb is not to run a contest when another is running. Most will not enter two contests at the same time.

Jammer, if you really want to one now, you can. And it wouldn't hurt to think through completely and wait to start. Your choice.

Oh and btw what's the NLT? What, just look at my face. Doesn't it look like I have no clue?

The No Limits Tournament. It is yearly in February and is considered the largest, most organized contest on Coaster Crazy. Just look in the contest forum. [:)]

No he can not start a contest now as I have one already planned out and ready to post at 12:00:00 AM this orning EST. So just be patient and wait until my contest is over Jammer. I am not forcing you to not to, but it would be a good idea, because if you didn't, not very many peope would sign up or an unofficial contest as they would a official one.

I meant the same [;)] But if you know. Oscar and Mikey rarely submit a contest entry, Coasterkid probably builds a deathtrap and I join about every contest held on this site. [lol]
