Ok, so a year later, my favourite by far goes to El Toro (it's made of wood, it counts!) and my least favourite is probably Rolling Thunder. Predator at Darien Lake is a close second worst.

My all time favorite is the Screamin Eagle at Six Flags St. Louis, (my local park) I have been riding it yearly since it opened back in 76, will never get tired of riding it either. I also really really like the Wildcat at Celebration City in Branson MO.

Worst coaster would have to be Mean Streak at Cedar Point, I was really really dissapointed after waiting for so long.

Favorite: El Toro; my favorite coaster overall actually.

Least Favorite: Rolling Thunder; it's rough as's like riding in a car thats speeding over potholes after your suspension springs have snapped an earthquake. If you dare take a backseat ride, you'll be soundly beaten and bruised. I don't mind rough coasters at all, but this is just too much. I like the layout and the racing (when they do it) but they need to fix this up in the worst way.

Huh?!? [confused]
When have you ridden it?
I've only been on three woodies, you know... Bandit wasn't great, while still enjoyable, Colossos was fuuun and its Airtime ruled, but TONNERRE was like nothing I've ever experienced before, one hell of a ride!!
So, what was wrong? Roughness?

I havn't had the chance to go on too many wooden coasters yet. That said my favorite is probably Roar at SFDK. It has a great 1st drop, awesome lateral G's, great pacing throughout the ride, and comfortable trains.

My least favorite is Phyclone at SFMM. I only went on it one time at night. It wasn't as painfull for me as others had said but it wasn't enjoyable.

4) The Raven
5) Lightning Racer

i would put Phoenix as number 6 but i'll leave it at 5.

2) Wildcat (Hershey Park)

that's about it. the others that come to mind are mediocre, not bad.

Why Texas Giant first? I found it relatively boring and rough...not too bad and still fun in spots but not overly exciting, even at the end. I can see how it might have been a lot better years ago but now, meh.

^i thought someone would say that! [lol]

i know it's nowhere near as intense as Voyage (or the others i listed), it's just that i grew up with it (i've been going on it since i was probably 5 or 6) and have a platonic love for it.

Despite the roughness, Ghost Rider is my favorite wooden coaster. Psyclone was pretty bad, but Twister II is even worse. Those two go together under my worst wooden coaster category.

Well, mine was the villain at Geauga Lake, and this year it will either be cedar creek mine ride/meanstreak or ravine flyer this year new at waldameer.
It's better to be pissed off , then pissed on.

Least favorite-this is hard cuz I can't think of any wooden coasters I've ridden that really stand out to me as "bad"

Favs (I have ridden all of these except Balder):
1. Boulder Dash @ LC (Duh)
2. Outlaw Run @ SDC (The barrel rolls are amazing)
3. Thunderhead @ Dollywood (My first GCI and it was awesome)
4. Balder @ Liseberg (Just looks like pure airtime and intamin goodness)

Least Favs (I have ridden all of these):
1. Wildcat @ LC (I know it is a classic, but it still hurts really badly)
2. Wild Beast at CW (Ouch!)
3. Tonnerre de Zeus @ PA(Pretty rough, but I would ride this any day over Goudurix)
4. Cyclone after the neutering @SFNE(Six Flags ruined a great ride with breaks and it has been running on the rough side pretty recently, but this ride will always hold a place in my heart for getting me over my fear of rollercoasters and sparking my love for them. RIP)

P.S. I wanted to place Yankee Cannonball somewhere on here, but I barely remember how it feels. It has been so long since I have been to Canobie.

Lightning Racer is definitely the most boring wooden ride I've been on by 10 miles. Mean Streak doesn't do much but that ride at least has laterals in the front seat, whereas Lightning Racer has no air and no laterals. It's a shame too really because the ride LOOKS so damn good but doesn't do anything.

Boss is my favorite.
