Poor Gwazi. How did it become the hot mess it is today anyway?

^ The Big Dipper? XD It's the only thing still standing there haha. I hope they don't let it rot to nothing but we have a habit of that here in Ohio

I still feel bad for "Son Of Beast" because when it first opened, a lot of people said "The loop on a woodie is awesome!" but they now leave a comment like "SOB? Whatever. Other looping woodies are much better. SOB's no longer a special scream machine." Time really went on...

Well, the only reason for me to ride SOB was because of the loop. It was a true gimmick, It's is too bad that it got closed and torn down. Then again, all those hybrid coasters haven't done a full vertical loop yet. So SOB is still the only woody with a vertical loop.

You mean the only recent one or in general? There were tons back in the day before lawsuits lol. I know Atlantic City, Coney Island, and Somewhere in Cali a defunct boardwalk park had notoriously famous ones. Where there ever any looping wooden coasters in the UK?

Favorite Stampida. Worst... both Coaster Express and Magnus Colossus. I don't like anyone of them, but Stampida is the only one that doesn't need to be burned down.

I would say the only modern one. Since most of the Wooden Loopings were built at least half a century ago.

Yay, I'm back to posting to the forums. :D

My favourite is still the Giant Dipper in Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, closely followed by Blackpool's good old Wild Mouse. But having these two on the top of the woodie ranks goes down to me not having ridden too many quality wooden coasters so far. But Joris and Troy are almost certainly happening this year, so these 2 might knock off the oldtimers off the top of the list.

On the other side of the ranking I have Blackpool's Grand National and BGT's Gwazi. These 2 were absolutely terrible, with GNash being the worst coaster I have ever ridden. Left my back hurt for the remainder of the day...

Outlaw Run is my hands down favorite, though I haven't been on El Toro, Voyage or Boulder Dash. My least favorite would be the defunct Texas Giant. People complain about Mean Streak but before its conversion old Texas Giant was miserable.

^Neither of CW's woodies held a candle to Old Texas Giant's unabashed awfulness when I visited in 2012.

Minebuster was actually a lot of fun. I loved its interaction with the water park and you get some great headchoppers from the waterslides and tower supports.
