ANSWER?

According to ACE news, Gerstlauer just announced at IAAPA that they are going to be building "one of the tallest coasters we've ever done" in North America in 2007. Does anyone else think that a massive Euro-Fighter with a past-90 degree drop would fit the bill as Kinzel's "big bang"?

Personally, I wouldn't mind a 200+ ft tall Eurofighter.

But I realize that isn't very likely, capacity is a big thing for CP, and that's one of the biggest things B&M brings to the table. Since Flyers don't have good capacity, it will likely be a huge Floorless. Just my 2 cents.

Yup, like Real said, CP is most likely already selecting their design for their next major attraction, that will be due out in 2009 or 2010. It's the way the world works, one task accomplished, begin work and planning on the next far in advance. It's not like a coaster firm will start working on a coaster when we find out, if anything they've known about it for at least four times as long as we have.

I disagree. Almost all of your high inversion high element rides are under 160ft.

All of your really long, really high rides are for the most part out and back Hyper coasters. Which, theres nothing wrong with that at all. Its my favourite type but I think anything over 250ft, like MF, actually limits you because of a few reasons.

1. Money - the costs of a ride this size are massive. Mf was 25 mil and its really nothing more than a large lift, 2 medium sized hills and a few overbanks. Nothing special.

2. G Forces - In order to keep the G's down on a ride going 90mph you need large radii and leadin's/outs. This increases the overall length of the ride which increases the cost and increases the size plot needed.

3. Along with the G Forces being kept down it limits your elements as well because alot of the elements we love on steel loopers actually work best in smaller sizes. I believe that most elements have a "effective" range in size where too small and they lose their specific purpose and too large as well. A 200ft loop would be a bore compared to a 80ft loop. Why? Because it would be impossible to recreate the feeling of the 80ft loop in the 200ft.

You can make more happen in a larger ride but theres actually more factors working against you when you think about it. Look at Colossus at Thorpe. Its what, like 130ft tall? And it holds the inversion record.

^Thats the bad part.

And thats their past rep. Thats not what was said about this ride. All that was said was "Out with a bang."

Heh, you beat me too it.

I'm guessing that it's going to be launched then or something that hasn't been done before, judging from that quote.

Try Under 100. And that just supports your point...

Yeah, but Half of Colossus Inversions only look good close to the ground... but a B&M looks awxsome with massive Inversions, I still think it'll be a B&M Floorless, nothing will change my opinion 'till I see the ride itself.

I'm really hoping for a record breaking floorless coaster...or maybe and even bigger and better inverted than Raptor (don't get me wrong, Raptor is awesome!)

They might just build a new type of coaster that is new. Like most of CP rides they are new to the market. So it might just be a new type of coaster.
