"Your aim almost always seems to just be to put other down as if to prove you're some kind of superior being."

How is that any different from what's happening in this entire thread? Only difference I see is I'm saying this to you and others, and not calling people stupid behind their backs. Defend your opinions if you want to, because by saying what I did here, I give you that chance, but calling names is simply a childish practice.

[lol] there's no fighting...

I like Dcs because he gives as good as he gets if not better.

Anyway, Dcs, I can agree with you that the whole point of this topic is to poke fun at others, but I think the question to you in a round about sort of way from a few people was; in this instance, why is this bad?

No one is getting hurt or offended and you must agree that sometimes the things people say in the queue lines is amusing.

Regardless, it's not just this topic that you've dived in with your standard holier-than-thou response. It's not the first topic where you have tried to stamp your supposed authority. If you'll cast your mind back to the whole "You should choose a different name when you upload this coaster" inccident. As if to say, your coaster using this name will be a blight upon the name of my coaster. You're not exactly moddest are you, you must agree?

I was at Kings Dominion one evening with a friend. We were in line for the Grizzly - next-to-back seat. There was a couple in line for the back seat. For those of you who haven't ridden the Grizzly (it's a wooden coaster), when you're in line for the back seat, you can see the structure of the fan curve, and see the train come around the fan curve. You are also in position to see the train come down the brake run into the station. These people waited through the line. When it was their turn to ride, they said "this isn't a log flume!", and they went through the train and left.

I've also heard, at KD, people ask where Magic Mountain is (back in the days of the Haunted River and Smurf Mountain).

I have received that email from my dad before. I just facepalmed.

Did someone say that that was Kingda Ka? And that it was New York. Wow, the nerve of some people.

Haha [lol]

Here's a classic one that keeps showing up:
"Backseat goes faster than the frontseat!"

Sometimes it's fun to question them about when you'll outrun the frontseat. Only to hear them coming back on their statement that "It felt going faster". [:D]

I somewhat agree with Dcs's point of view but let me reword it into my own words.

Its hard to laugh or fault someone for making a comment about which they know nothing about. It IS however hysterical when so called "enthusiasts" or people "in the know" make mistakes or say stupid things.

This would be a lot more amusing to me if it were about people who call themselves enthusiasts but have no clue what they are talking about.

That makes more sense to me anyways.

^I don't quite agree with that first part. If a member of the general public talks like he knows everything, while he clearly doesn't, or if someone from the GP makes a claim that's just stupid (like going a million mph), then we have all the right to make fun of them.

Who said they think they know everything? Did you ask them? Talk to them? Or mearly overhear a conversation?

Obviously you and everyone else here has never ever exaggerated or had fun with a conversation with friends.

I clearly and 100% doubt that someone thinks any ride goes a million miles an hour.

Now, a story like bobcoaster - thats funny because thats just people not being observant, not necessarily an enthusiast. Obviously its hard sometimes to overlook things when you're observant but if you're with friends, completely involved with them and a conversation its easy to ignore everything around you - especially if you don't know.

Just remember what assuming makes you look like. ;)

BTW Dirk, their statement is half correct. The backseat will travel over a certain section faster than the front and vice versa. The entire train is traveling at the same speed obviously but over certain parts, certain sections of the train hit them at a different speed. So that statement holds SOME truth behind it.

Sadly, they probably wouldn't know how to word it.

I talk to guests quite often, or overhearing them. Working in a themepark gives you that benefit.
And sometimes, when a guest is asked a question, either by me or a friend, instead of simply saying they don't know the answer, they claim to know the answer and are 200% sure of it.

I'm not saying it happens often and with every guest I speak, but when it happens, it's hilarious and we should be able to have a laugh at it.

stupid Drunk people are also very funny, one weekend inkemah boardwalk, an old man infront of me was telling me " hey kid, did you know this coaster goes over 100 miles per hour and they have to replace the boards every day", but of coarse, he also claimed he had a degree in "roller coaster engineering"
i put the laughter in manslaughter!

^I once got in a fight with a drunk line jumper. It was two years ago when I was waiting for Nitro, and this dude thought he could leave the line to buy beer and return with with wife and step-son. I pretended to ignore him and blocked the way, but eventually he got pissed and tried to wrap his arm around my neck. Of course, he dropped the soda and held onto the beer (gotta have priorities). I elbowed him off me and clocked him in the face, and then I had security escort him and his family out the park. Awesome day lol. It also happened to be the day I sat next to a Ukrainian guy on that ride where he said, "Oh my God, I have never been on something that goes 500ft high!" *face palm*

wait .. lets see. him , wife and kid .. thats 3.. so when you started in that line there were 3.. you're still in line.. you knew he was coming back .. so even without him there it's still 3. so technically ( in my way of thinking ) there were still 3 in front of you .BUT to make your day better you ruined theirs.. wow.. you will go a long way in the servie.. that is all.

Since when is Nitro worth waiting in line for?
Boulder Dash was the only good roller coaster.
