VR coaster sounds like the Mission Space: The Coaster Version. ;)

^ Ok that's fine then. As long as I don't "have" to wear the VR when riding a ride, then I'll be supportive of it.

I'm not sure how I feel about this. Hopefully they give the option to ride without VR cause it could get sickening after some time.

Alton Towers facebook confirmed that you could ride without VR

thanks, that's reassuring!

I learned that only tame or "forceless" coasters could be VR ones! :)

I think it will be fun to try it once when you're not riding it frontseat... But I think it won't be interesting for doing it multiple times on one day.

Hmmm... This could be interesting. The only thing I'm pretty much worried about is: How the hell are they going to do a hygienic approach on these VR glasses. It's going to be hella crap if you'd get one of those smelly soggy sweaty glasses from someone who wore it just before you. Especially because these VR glasses really need to lock in tight on your face to get the proper full experience. Heck, even those plastic 3d glasses are going into some kind of steamer/washer to hygienically prepare them for the next batch of visitors. I don't really see that happening with so much technology put inside a pair.

sterilisation prior to headset wear. The attendant dunks your face in a bucket of freezing cold soapy water before you ride.
Cradled by two loving arms that I'd die for,
One little kiss and Felina goodbye.

I imagine that they'll have a lot more pairs than they need, then each is cleaned once they've been washed and then are reused. Basically the staff number required on AIR just tripled!?

I like VR, but I have no clue about this. I doubt it will be setup in such a way that you could "hide" the headset. But I can easily see them being broken and, if the system is not powerful enough (AKA, ~$2000-$3000 USD per-headset computer for something that needs to have fast reaction time), you will easily get nausea. So unless they plan to spend $56,000 on the computers alone, it ain't going to be that fun...

Hmm, I wonder if the manufacturers will put official g-force limits for VR coasters to prevent serious motion sickness. I don't think that any coaster pulling over 5g's will get that system, because every VR coaster is designed for everyone including families. Moderate g's that most riders can deal with are welcome.

I love how their advertisement for the re-themed Air poster has Arrow's or Vekoma's tracks. Lmao.

It's what happens when graphics designers aren't given limits.

Just like a lot of GPs think that any fantasy coaster should be like this! :)

^ Well, I added that video of a motion simulator from YouTube to compare with the Galactica image showing a similar track design. BTW oh "Astro Canyon Coaster" is really exciting!
