Yea, I think the US is over due for another rocket like Storm Runner. You know, one with some personality to it? The only "original" rocket coasters in the US are Xcelerator (as nothing like it was done before) and SR.
Although I really do wish that when they built Xcelerator they had done more with it because really, did they think that Xcelerator would always remain as one of the most exciting coasters out there? Grant it, it has one of the most intense launches on a rocket coaster, and its got some intense air time, but after that its 2 semi-boring over banks. Had they not had Perilous Plunge in its spot, I'm sure they would have winged Xcelerator over to the left and had more air time hills, and it would have totally fulfilled all needs of a steel air time machine, but that ride has always just left me wanting something more (that being more intense perabolic, smooth, air time)

I posted about this a while back, before all the stats were there. I posted one topic in the real coasters forum, and then another in this forum but it wasnt moderated [:(]

Anyway, still looks like a good coaster.

Nope it launches into the top hat i believe, then the loop, then a ground hugging urn, then airtime hill.

The loops really big. It looks like if it did the top hat first the loop would be somewhat weak. It seems only 10 or so feet shorter. Does anyone know of a video of the ride

If that's all, I don't know what should be so great about it...

SR has some neat elements and a great layout, and so does Superman Escape IMO (plus the theming I've read about). Kanonen has a good layout too, but I've read the ride experience is not as perfect. I think the best rocket will be speed monster!

But this one here... IMHO, a coaster is not automatically great just because it's an intamin rocket. From the pics, it looks just... way uninspired to me.

Looks like a pretty average rocket to me. Which means it's probably awesome.

But why? That track looks so sexy in red. Ive yet to see a color it looks better in. Orange is close, but not quite. The Blue looks good but its not on the bright side. It just looks so good in red.

I agree, the name almost sounds like a themed kiddie ride not really and Intamin Rocket, although it does look like a pretty decent ride.

I'm not saying it looks bad, I agree with you, the red and blue colours look really good on most coasters. I just think it would be a little more interesting if more colours were used.

Wow, that is pretty damn short! It should still be fun though.
