According to Screamscape and this article, (link is below) S&S Worldwide has announced it will build it's first 4D coaster next year. They have already disclosed the details; It will cost $7 million, reach 38 mph, and have 1,265 feet of track. The stats may seem a bit tame, but they insist that this is just a prototype; It is to be,"a more family-friendly ride with more variability where with each time you ride it you get a different experience" as stated by Mike Worley, senior mechaninal engineer. It's going through prototype testing at the moment, and uses eddy-current brakes to force or retard spins. Keep in mind, this is the same technology used in magnetic brakes, which were pioneered by Intamin. S&S Worldwide haven't said where the ride will be built specifically. They only disclosed that it will be built in North America.

Personally I think this is awesome and opens up a whole new world of possibilities. Who knows? Maybe B&M may be next to follow! What do you think?

It could likely be at a Six Flags park, because they bought X2 for SFMM, but in reality it could be any Six Flags thempark (except SFMM)

It won't go to six flags new england, their getting their RMC conversion, as well as SFMM. I actually doubt it will go to a Six Flags park. It will go to a smaller park, I hope.

As far as boomerangs go hershey's is one of the better aged imo. On topic it sounds like S&S' version of a zac spin?
What are these for?

YES! That's what I was thinking, something along those lines.

I won't be Hershey Park, they have a Bromance with Intamin lol

I'm more expecting it to be a X2 Type coaster with free spinning, although not as extreme.

Are you complaining? Most US parks won't touch Intamin with a 10 foot stick these days.

I'm not complaining! I thought the "lol" made that clear. I love intiman.

I really like First-Gen Intamin Hyper/Giga coasters, but I like Second-Gen Inta-Ride style coasters even more. They're much more intense and the new double spine looks amazing. I REALLY love Intamin but it's sad that they're slowly fading away in the U.S.

The dual spine is beautiful! Intiman track is better looking than B&M track.
To bad they're so few!
