That's a neat figure. Didn't know Kingda Ka was so much longer lengthwise

So is anyone going to address what's going on with that straight section before the "airtime" hill? :?

It's a section of brakes. I bet you'll get a nice pop going into the real brakes after it. Honestly it's a smart way to add a few feet to the drop height of the ride.

@coasterkidmwm I know that they're trim brakes lol, I was referencing the question to why it looks bumpy the way it does?

Looks like they are probably bent due to load sagging instead of part of the manufacturing process, if somebody ran it through the bender with a few degrees of pitch on accident the pins wouldn't line up. Maybe it happened during shipping? Usually straight pieces are sent in a single container one stacked onto another. If somebody put a curve down and then stacked several of the straight pieces on it you could probably duplicate bends like that with the weights involved.

I was going to say it looks like they're all sagging in the middle. They'll find it during testing lol.

Ew that's really strange. I wonder how they will correct it.

Any theory as to why they use 2-tube track for things like that? There are so many supports, it can't be cost-effective. Reference Ride of Steel's giant low-ground helix. Shipping? In this scenario I feel like if it were 3- or 4-tube or new-single-spine track there wouldn't be deformations in the rails.

Lol at the random really short double-spine sections. I know those are the highest stress areas of the structure but it just looks funny to me.

With the brake run, it looks like each track section has bowed after sitting on the wooden blocks in the parking lot.

^^ The "Trick Track" is, I think, the best way to feel a wobbly moment! :)

Is that the only picture we have of those 'wobbles'?
What if those wobbles are just an illusion because of the heat, just an idea.

The track in the middle of the screen can be seen bowed inwards

You can also make out the bendiness in the track in this shot

If shipping and storage of the track is what caused the bending, I wonder why Intamin didn't do anything to prevent that... with as many coasters as they've built, you'd think they'd be aware of something like that?

Just because Intamin says "Hey don't do that" doesn't mean the shipping and construction company will listen to what they say.

True... but I've always been under the impression that the manufacturer packages the pieces and then has them picked up by a third party company to have them delivered to the park where they unloaded and eventually assembled?

Anybody that is worried about the bending track needs to be institutionalized. Honestly. The park is not f***ing RETARDED. They will not run a train over track like that. They will do abundant walk through inspections of the track. They will address the issue and mend the bent profile.

I swear to god. Sometimes I read some of your guys' posts and my jaw drops.

Were not worried they'll run the trains over them, just this error will cause unnecessary delays and problems for opening.
